  1. I'm pretty sure you must have these cars sitting out in your driveway, I can never find enough detailed photos to add that much correct looking detail . You sir are BRILLIANT.
  2. You can never have too many brackets. I'm not much of a "planner" or "measurer" more just eyeball it . so for me having several different sizes is beneficial but being able to get multiples of the brackets I need is nice too. I know this doesn't help .
  3. You could make a mold, cast the unit, and then modify the resin copy .
  4. Revell made a van parts pack in the seventies . you can find them on ebay from time to time I wouldn't pay more than $20 for it .
  5. The Slingster gets my vote . I just really like having options , I wish the 3 in 1 kits would make a comeback in newer kits , stock custom and racing in one box .
  6. You can probably just recoat it but do a whole coat don't try to just spray the bare spot.
  7. Sorry to hear , thoughts and prayers for his family and friends .
  8. there is also http://www.ebay.com/itm/20pcs-Unpainted-DIY-Fun-Toy-Project-Model-Train-People-Figures-1-25-G-Scale-NEW-/330719350231?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item4d0068cdd7
  9. these are my favorite http://www.ulrichmodels.biz/servlet/the-590/Ulrich-Mini-dsh-Men-1-fdsh-24th-Scale/Detail
  10. You can also try EBAY for airbrushes . Since you're just starting out don't over look the Testors Aztek airbrushes . you can find them pretty cheap they are easy to use and clean and would work just fine to learn on . I found an airbrush compressor at Menards (home improvement box store ) on sale for $30.00 again not the best but adequate for starting out . I would recommend starting with the lower end stuff until you are sure you will be using it often enough to warrant buying the top of the line stuff .
  11. Thanks ,I didn't understand the wedges part now I get it .
  12. Any body have pictures of what is being discussed ? I am more of a visual learner .
  13. K&S aluminum tubing , you can try to flare it with an awl or similar tool by placing it in a slightly larger tube and rotating the awl then cutting to size. but it is hard to get consistent results . frankly the AMT set isn't that pricey when you think about the time spent making them . also there are some on ebay that are slightly cheaper than the AMT set you just have to search a little bit .you can also check out the jewelry section at Michaels ,Jo ann or other craft stores for items that may capture the look you want . hope this is helpful.
  14. I think you may have just enlightened me ,Thank you .
  15. That reminds me of my neighbor growing up he had a yellow pacer with wood panel . great guy he always had a piece of candy he even hooked me up with a spoke generated noisemaker for my bicycle. He even gave me some old stuff that included some old model parts not enough to build a car but enough to capture my imagination for the rest of the day. Funny how some things stick with you. Good ol' Earl His wife's name was Pearl .
  16. Nothin' wrong with slappin' em together. It's usually funner that way. So what would you add to this if you wanted to go further with it? Did you have to modify anything to get those wheels in there? Thanks for sharing.
  17. I have some older builds that I have no problem tearing apart to make something better ,but some builds that were "groundbreaking" for me at the time would be restored to as built condition . I like to purchase old builds off ebay usually to rebuild a rare kit but sometimes they are just too cool to change.
  18. Cool Idea ,I look forward to seeing this progress.
  19. The CNN show is called "Paul Walker : Fast Lane "
  20. Your paint looks great, nice clean assembly too . you should try some bare metal foil for the chrome around the windshield and maybe a black wash for the rims to bring out the detail that is already there .
  21. I just hate the speculation prior to the kit being released . Pictures of kit content should be the primary inclusion in a review of a newly released kit . I like the discussions about the real cars, previous releases , rivet count , blatant oversights and potential future releases , However , wading through all that before seeing what's being critiqued is ridiculous . the review section is fine as is as long as the pics make it to the first post when available , because they usually get lost somewhere in the middle of a popular thread . That's all I have to say about that .
  22. They're going to be doing a tribute cruise locally . I don't know who "they" are specifically but I saw it on the news . Word on the street is it may have been a street race , if so I hope someone will learn from this.
  23. No, but we can probably continue reviewing a kit that isn't out yet . let's see if it can drag it out to 8 pages so when the kit does come out you have to spend two hours trying to find pics and actual info on the kit as released . good info here just not anything about the kit in question.
  24. That is awesome. Also a nice history lesson . Thanks for sharing and illuminating .
  25. It's cool but they lost me with the Hemi . 396 cu. in. just looks cooler in that black stripe I don't know why .
