I think the math is skewed, I don't think completed is the right "bench"mark. As previously mentioned I have a lot of started , ongoing projects that I work on as the skills or needed parts avail themselves . My son James however has to have a 1200% build rate as he's built 12 of my snap kits ,unless my math is off.

That is some pretty nice work there! I like the stucco finish and the weathering is great too!

rubber cement will also work but takes a bit to dry. sometimes I'll use liquid cement to just tack stuff together just use it sparingly and in a spot that you can easily repair if needed .

If I were going to use those wheels I'd probably try dry brushing some "silver or chrome" paint over the spokes depending on how that looks maybe follow up with a black wash to further highlight the spokes and rim. unless the real car has painted spokes then use whatever color they were painted for dry brushing. Dry brushing is accomplished by using very little paint on your brush and just lightly going over the raised areas with very little pressure applied. Hope this is helpful.

That's pretty cool , hopefully they'll invite you back in a year or two to flog the same car only this time trade some paint.

I guarantee the revell kits will be worth big bucks in 10 years. These cars may not win any speed records ,but i'd love to see them race . seriously think about a donk hillclimb or even something like a rally scenario.

I used it to go over some flat military colors trying to get a more realistic "factory" looking color but it comes out a little to pearly . Think frosted.

This is looking really good ,you make it look easy but I know it is difficult to fix . I can't wait too see it done.

A gift card for a specific hobby store that he frequents is the easiest best solution because there is a lot of variables to the kits on the shelves. Some of the best box art hides some of the worst kits. even models made by the same company can vary in quality. try to get a specific list from your daughter , then ask the guy in the model isle for an opinion. Also if the boyfriend only builds in one scale make sure you buy the right scale. I can answer a more specific question with a lot more clarity . Well I think the Bob Reisner rod looks (gulp) Better, but I would guess Barris' was not the first one built. either way neither has a thing to do with Tom Daniel .

Glad to see Norman's car completed. Your projects are always interesting and well executed this is no exception.

I can't seem to pass up reasonably priced vintage parts lots. you know the ones that haven't been touched since the sixties. there is just some thing about finding the parts that particular person didn't use or was hoarding ,seeing how they organized or approached building models. And it's probably a reminder that I should put those cool parts to good use. I also like all the extras like people , tools ,guns ,figures , surf boards, motorcycles ,minibikes and scuba gear.
