  1. Yup, when tooling goes to China it's a one-way ticket. Eventually there is going to be a lot of abandoned tooling in China, and most of it will be up for grabs. Makes me wonder if one day unsanctioned kits will be produced from this tooling.
  2. My 2 cents? I would lengthen the rear fender well opening just enough to expose the full diameter of the tire at the bottom, but not make the opening any higher than it currently is, and maintain the original shape/angle of the of the end portions of the opening . Does that make sense?
  3. Nice! I have a couple of Tim's books, but have yet to pick up this one. I did not know MPC released a Sox & Martin '72 Cuda.
  4. It's hard to see what's going on here due to close photos and shallow depth of field. Are we dealing with three pieces here (body, chassis, and engine compartment piece)? First, place the chassis on a flat surface and verify it's not seriously warped. Post a photo. If this is three pieces, remove the engine compartment piece and see if the chassis fits the body. It appears the engine compartment piece is not fitted correctly, causing interference. Does it fit better if you try to fit the front end in first? It may also be helpful if you post a photo of the instruction sheet page. Alternatively, and this may sound silly, but is it possible you have the wrong chassis for the body?
  5. Indeed. I have had three of these kits. Two I bought new in the 80s had clear glass. I bought another off epay about ten years ago and was surprised (and bummed) to find it had dark smoke tinted glass.
  6. Well, that's pretty wild. I had no idea Mattel was making this stuff. It looks like it would be very handy around the model bench. A heck of a lot easier than turning/sanding/polishing with my bench-top drill press.
  7. I'm holding out for the Mattel horizontal boring mill, and maybe the Mattel cylindrical grinder.
  8. That is one fine looking bus. Love the colours, and looks great lowered. Very nice!
  9. Welcome to the forum, Charles. It's a great place to get back into the groove.
  10. Just catching up with this project again. Impressive work as usual, Pierre. Some top notch scratch building of detail parts. It's coming along beautifully.
  11. My first thought when I saw it was a kitbash with the Monogram Rommel's Rod.
  12. I haven't, but I have seen it on their site and thought it would be an interesting build. I thought it was a curious subject for 1/24 scale, too. I'll be placing an order with the Plastic Model Store soon, and am considering getting one.
  13. Super cool! Love some good short track racing.
  14. Probably not what you had in mind, but these are some of my favourite tail fins. No one does fins like the Alfa Romeo BATs.
  15. Interesting project. The renderings look very good.
  16. Wow! That's very interesting, I never would have thought they were around that long ago. I suppose the target market was balsa plane builders. Were their first products airplane dope?
  17. Welcome aboard, David.
  18. I found they were getting hard to find, too. Then a few years ago I stopped at a yard sale where a woman had bundles of 20 old wire hangers for $1 each. I bought all three bundles. Incredibly useful around the garage and shop.
  19. Nice work, Michelle. Good looking Road Runner.
  20. Very good looking Mustang. Nice tidy work. The colour looks great on the Mustang.
  21. The coolest of the Beaumonts. Very nice work so far. The conversion to post coupe looks first rate.
  22. Welcome to the forum, Brian. Some very nice models there. Good to have you aboard.
  23. That's a great picture. The pensive look on his face suggests a man who wishes he had read his horoscope that morning.
