  1. Got most of my Modelhaus parts today. As soon as the rest of the parts come in & I finish my current model this one's next.
  2. No, I didn't notice the wheels. You're right, they are t-bird. I'll be ordering the correct ones now. Thanks for letting me know.
  3. I've already done some checking & friction models have less value than a promo. It's got some value, but not a lot. Anyway, the rear bumpers broke, the windshield pillar is warped & no steering wheel so it can't be worth much as it sets.
  4. I know lots of old & rare isn't a real good sign, but they seem to be the minority & new models the majority. I agree with the paint. Once the paint goes it seems like the hobby shop soon closes. I'm keeping my fingers crossed this one makes it.
  5. I got this old friction model as a trade for a few Hot Wheels cars. My Mom had one in the early 70's & plan matching it. I've already ordered all the chrome & interior parts from Modelhaus & can't wait to get started.
  6. A new hobby shop has opened in Warsaw, In. only 10 miles from me. It's called Awesome Hobbies & has new, old & rare models & lots of paint. I've had to either order off the internet or drive 40 miles to Ft. Wayne. Now there's one close by He's going to get plenty of business from me.
  7. Insanity is right. At least the ironworkers got a paycheck for being up there. Some fresh bird sh#t on one of those rails He's hanging on to by one hand & down he'll go.
  8. I'd be concerned a heavy gust of wind might hit while I'm up there.
  9. A gorgeous, sunny 83 degrees.
  10. Anyone care to take a seat next to these guys?
  11. Got this 1964 Pontiac Grand Prix friction model as a trade for some hot wheels cars. It needs a rear bumper & a steering wheel.
  12. I'm looking to buy a 1966 Chevelle diecast. Ertl's seem to be a quality, but pricey one. I don't know anything about Classic metal works other than they look good in pictures & they're not as expensive. Are they as high grade as Ertl or Danbury mint or a cheapy like Maisto?
  13. I love the old American iron. 1. 1955-56 Mercury Monterey 2. 1955 Olds. 98 starfire conv. My Mom had one in the late 50's 3. 1963 Olds. 88 conv. My first car was one of these 4. 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix conv. 5. 1966 Toronado
  14. About 10 years ago before I started wearing glasses I was gluing a part & flung super glue into my eye. I had to go to my eye Dr. & He put my head in a vice like thing & scraped it out. No fun & very painful.
  15. A good friend of mine wants to pay me to build a Dale Earnhardt, Jr.#88 National Guard Impala & a Tony Stewart #14 Impala for him. I don't find anything in Tony Stewarts #14 & only a snap kit for the #88. He's already got the diecasts but would like to add a couple models of these. Does anyone know if either of these came as a kit & where they can be purchased? Is the #88 snap kit a very detailed kit or does it just look like a toy?
  16. I have four adult children & they never showed much interest growing up. My wife has no real interest other than helping me pick out body & interior colors. She likes to display my better builds in a clear case in our living room.
  17. Now I know. Thanks for the info. I've had this model laying around for around 15 years & finally decided to build it.
  18. I've been buying from them for several years & recommend them .Their prices are great, especially for paint. I've never had a problem with them & always get my order within a week.
  19. Lots of goodies from Scalehobbyist.
  20. These extra parts came with the model & nowhere in the instructions does it show them. Anybody know what these are for?
  21. Heres a couple of odd ones I saw in a local junkyard
  22. 5:00 Am & were still here. Looks like I'll get to finish the '50 Olds after all.
  23. Goodbye cruel world. Less than a day to go so it looks like I'm not going to get the '50 Olds I've been working on for the past few weeks done.
