Hey Robert, Jim Littiken is still producing these wheels. His website is Micro Nitro. You can contact him for details on them. http://www.micronitro.net/ -
1/25 Ford C-600 Stake truck
Ben replied to Piero's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
That looks great!!!!!! If I make a suggestion (you may already intend on doing it) Those wheels are cast iron spoke wheels and are always plated. I don't ever remember seeing them chrome plated as they have a very rough, cast finish. I could see someone leaving them chrome on a fancy truck but it looks like your going for a realistic "Work Truck" look. -
The wheels I'm selling, lost everyone's info! :(
Ben replied to Ben's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Hi Mike, I don't have a website but I have pictures of the parts I make on my Fotki site. www.public.fotki.com/lotso. No selling is allowed here on the forum so if you have any other questions, please message me and I'll send you my email. Thanks! -
I thought of that when I wrote this. I like to think there are mostly honest people on here. I asked her over and over if she wanted me to send the kits back or at least send pics of the boxes but she said "no, it's ok".

I have been a long time customer of Tower Hobbies and have never had any issues with them. I had recently placed an order for two of the MPC Daytona Transporter trucks and they ended up being on backorder for about a week. I received them yesterday only to find that both boxes were pushed in a little. Not enough to affect the kit but it wrinkled the boxes a bit. I called Tower asking if I could exchange them for two kits with nicer boxes (I have no idea when I'll get to them to build them and I like my boxes to be as nice as possible while displayed) They told me they have some more on backorder and when they get them in, they'll send me two new kits!!!!! I asked if I could send these two back and she said no, it's ok, just do whatever you want with them!!! That's some great customer service!!!!

2012 iHobby show - Round2 2013 Announcements
Ben replied to Tom Kren's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
My bad, I didn't know what model that First Gear truck was but I didn't think it was a C series also? I am pretty sure that the kit will just be a reissue of the newer C series like the Stake Truck. It's been a LONG time since that kit was issued! The truck itself has been reissued several times without the van body. The van body itself has been reissued many times on the Ford L series "Short Hauler" kits. -

That's a picture of a First Gear 1/34 diecast on that box. It's not a C series truck. The C series they are talking about will be the same basic truck as the Stake Truck kit but with a van body. It's a reissue. It was issued as a Hertz Rental version, a Napa version and I think one more but I can't think of it right now. -
I think it's sad how some people only care about how fast they can go, how much torque they can produce and winning is everything. Some things should just stay the way they are. The roar or that big supercharged engine is half the fun of watching these trucks!!! Most likely this new electric truck will be pretty quiet. I wouldn't pay to see that. Reminds me of the guys putting the diesel engines in cars like the Buick Grand National. That's just WRONG!!!!!!!!!! My buddy is trying so hard to get me to put an LS motor in my 69 Camaro. He keeps telling me about alll the horsepower they make with very little modifications. If my sole intention was winning races, I'd consider it but to me, part of what's cool about a 60's muscle car is the hard loping cam of a small block or a big block and the sound they make at all RPMs.

Boss truck of America .....................?
Ben replied to Mr mopar's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I would have thought for sue that it had the torsion bar suspension. This is great to know! Now someone needs to make good master parts of this suspension so we can get it cast into resin!!!!! If you look at those pictures of the Boss Truck, as it is now, you can see that the whole rear section of a newer Kenworth was added to the existing frame. The frame wasn't that long on the original truck and you can see where the old suspension mounted on the original portion of the frame rails, forward of the existng 8 bag air ride. -

I make those full dress chrome two holes as well. They're not plated but look exactly like those when you get them plated! -

How in the world did they scratch build a front bumper so close to the real one and then mount it upside down on the model?????? -
New Moebius Ford Pick-ups 1971 Ranger XLT AND 1969 Custom SWB
Ben replied to SteveG's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I asked my cat. All he would say was "I'm hungry!" Oh well, I tried.... -
I don't think any of the Gremlin kits came with the six cyl. Is there a kit out there that has a nice Ford 258 straight six? I think the Chrysler trans would be easy to find but I don't remember seeing the engine? I'd like to build a replica of my first car.

If it has anything to do with the gas prices, it's probably because the wind shifted to the north and someone said there might be a hurricane next year and the "Winter Blend" doesn't smell right and someone in a country we buy oil from, said a cuss word to another person and the guys on the offshore rigs had a party and everyone is hung over and an oil tanker captain thought he saw a Mermaid so they told him to slow down...............that's why everything is more expensive.........so they claim.

Bandag Tyrone Malone Tires ?
Ben replied to Mr mopar's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I'd be intersted in a few sets as I would someday like to build the Boss truck of America and the Mama Truck that hauled it. Don't want to rob my Papa Truck or Hideout Truck kits for the tires! -
Moebius Models Great Dane reefer update
Ben replied to Dave Metzner's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I haven't tried them on other kit wheels but they fit my 1/25 resin wheels like a glove!!! It's like they were made for them! -
A present for Bill Geary, Happy Birthday.
Ben replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Happy birthday Bill! May all your windshields be free of water droplets! -
I would use very thin Chartpack black tape. It's like pinstriping tape but it's not shiny, it has a dull flat finish. I would then cut a very tiny piece, wrap it around the frame and over the wires and then take a toothpick with a very tiny drop of superglue and touch the overlap. This should produce very convincing, scale "tie wraps".

Kenworth K100 with extra sleeper.
Ben replied to griffin's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That's one that I really want to build as well. I want to build mine like Clayton mentioned where the roof of the extra sleeper is shaped like the cab roof so the body lines continue all the way back. I alreay have two scrap Revell Aerodyne roofs that I was going to join together by cutting the fronts off each one and joining each back half together. Might have to use some extensions in between though as I'm thinking just the two roof halves would not end up being long enough. I had a really cool side shot of one exactly like this with the red and white BJ and the Bear paint job on it, saved on my desktop but lost it a few days ago in the computer crash. -
Well, the good news is....it only gets worse!

COOL!!!!!!!!! Gotta get two of these for sure! The 75 Gremlin was my very first real car handed down to my from my older brother. It was tan with the dog dish hub caps, 258 straight six ford engine, Chrysler 727 TorqueFlight transmission and 9" Ford rear end. It was ugle but it was pretty quick! I beat a V8 Dodge Duster with it once! It's funny how most of us find that car ugly but think the model is cool! LOL

New Moebius Ford Pick-ups 1971 Ranger XLT AND 1969 Custom SWB
Ben replied to SteveG's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Man, this just confirms it! Moebius is my all time, most favorite model company!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't thank Dave and Moebius enough for the great kits they have made and intend on making. These new Fords will be big! Very big! I know they're going to sell VERY well! I'll be doing everything I can to buy at least one case of each version!!!!!! I'm already scared that I might miss out on the Model King version!!!!!!! I sure hope Dave Burkette has a LOT of them made as I see that shortbed, six cylinder being the most popular of the two kits. How many minutes is it till I have them in my grubby lil paws?????? Tick tock, tick tock......
