Whoops. Yes, I agree the Ala Kart is/was awesome. I have the kit in my stash waiting it's turn to be built. I think it was Sam Barris that built the Hiroshima?? Mercury. It's my understanding that George Barris puts his name on builds that he never touched. I don't know that for a fact though.
I used to work with a guy that was a pilot on one of things in WWII. His plane was called 4Q and the God guy always insisted on a name change. Ray was shot down twice, shrapnel all over his face. He was a terrific engineer to work with.
The owner of HL is a fairly religious person. For example, HL is closed on Sunday so the employees can spend time with family. The new health care law provides for medication that will cause an abortion and abortion goes against HL religious beliefs so HL said he'll close down the company before accepting the law. The last I heard was that HL was taking the issue to court and I haven't heard any updates.
By the way, I'm just trying to relate the facts as I know them and I'm not attempting to make a statement of any sort about religion or abortions.
OMG is that a beautiful car!! Excellent craftsmanship, Jurgen.
I have a Mercedes 500SL in my stash and (don't hate me) it's waiting for a big block Chevy engine with a tunnel ram manifold. Maybe some large scoop on the hood. I plan to make it a street machine.
Yesterday I received the new Foose Charger from IPMS for FREE! All I have to do is build it, take some pics, and write a review. You know the old saying, "If it's for free, it's for me".
