  1. My usual technique is to brush Testors steel on the pipes and exhaust manifolds/headers. I've used solder for headers on occasion. Aluminum tubing for exhaust tips. Aluminum and Evergreen tubing in several sizes for mufflers. Recently I've been made aware of some K&S aluminum tubing that comes shaped like an airplane wing. I've hammered it down to try and get an oval shape and then glued Evergreen flat stock to either end, sanded to shape and painted with either Testors steel or aluminum.
  2. OUCH! At least the really important things were saved.
  3. What a view out the front window - ALL ENGINE!! Fantastic work you're doing, Rom, and I'm looking forward to future updates.
  4. CNN is showing NYC getting hammered right now and more coming. Times Square looks very strange with no people in it. The East River is just to overflow level now. I hope you folks up that way evacuated if you were supposed to and will be okay.
  5. Florida Auto & Scale Trucks (FAST) is a hands on, face to face model club rather than an online club like Model Car Builders of Florida (MCBF). It would expected that both groups can support each other and help the hobby.
  6. Florida Auto & Scale Trucks (FAST) Model Club will hold its' next meeting on September 3, 2011 at 10:00am Hobby Lobby 2400 SW College Road (SR200) Ocala, FL 34471 Hope to see many of you there.
  7. I like the ball shifter - but it's your build.
  8. Engine bay is looking good!
  9. Looking good, Nick. What's the source of those carbs?
  10. Somehow I missed this WIP. Really nice work going on and I'll follow it now.
  11. I'm trying to build a 1/12 scale bike and was wondering if someone could refresh me with the formula so I can use the correct size wire for ignition, battery, clutch, brake, etc.
  12. Is the Ranchero going to be $50 too?
  13. Looks pretty good. What paint did you use?
  14. As much as I like the car and would love to build one, there's no way I'll send $50 on a model car kit.
  15. Both look terrific. How about a grey interior in the Riv?
  16. Good looking build.
  17. I didn't notice if the Lotus was supercharged. The owner was hyped up and just wanted to talk about how low, fast, and street legal the thing is. It would also pass the smog laws in California.
  18. Good for FLA but the east coast north of us looks as if they'll have issues.
  19. Looking fabulous, Shane.
  20. Can't they put the wires into waterproof pipes?
  21. I asked that same question to Progress Energy, Jon. I was told the infrastructure is already there and it would too expensive tout all the power lines underground. Newer developments have underground utilities but are still fed from overhead power lines.
  22. Glad to hear you made it through, Mike. We're waiting now to see what she'll do to Florida.
