Looks like you did some magic there, Nick, and I hope you'll keep the cold weather up there with you. Should the rear drive shaft be on such a severe angle?
Here's the problem. Fenders from a 1/12 bike kit were primed with Plasti-Kote grey T235. One side was then painted with HOK basecoat blue. The other side was done in HOK orion silver basecoat and then HOK candy apple red. I applied some very thin tape and then coated with Plasti-Kote white primer. The red bled through so I had a half pink fender. Do I need to apply a clear coat before the white?
What color is that '36? The first pic looks black, but the second looks like there's some maroon in there.
Very nice build whatever the color. SHINY is always good.
What a fantastic build you have going, Romell. I certainly hope you're enjoying being at the top of my most hated list (meant in a friendly, jealous way). I need to go change keyboards now until the drool dries.
No thinning. I decanted through a cone shaped paper cup (like a snow cone cup) with a 1/4" of the tip cutoff into the glass paint jar. Waited a few minutes. Turned the compressor to 25psi and shot with a Paasche H series airbrush. You'll want to put the Colorshift over a black basecoat. In this case I used Plast-i-cote black primer.
JaxCon was my first show in about 40 years and I loved it. Also took home 2 2nd place awards. Even if I didn't win, I still enjoyed the show and meeting new people like Rob, his wife, Wayne, and a bunch of other swell people.
I'm in Florida so the humidity is high. The formerly unopened cartons were dated June 8 2009 and the other September 21, 2010. The boxes were unopened so I figure the contents were never opened.
Did I miss something? The pics are from next year.
This looks like an interesting build. Don't remember anyone scraping the plastic before for a woodgrain effect.
Joseph - I don't know what you mean by "post cured" or "burned out with castings".
I got 2 gallons of the Mold Max 30 (A& for free. I guess I need to get a gram scale.
