  1. Here's my Citrus Coupe. Why citrus? The body is painted in HOK candy tangerine; interior is mango and cream with orange flocking; running boards are mango; frame is cream; suspension conponents are cream & mango. I tried to really detail this build with heater hoses, AC lines, fuel lines, throttle linkage, oil & trans dipsticks. The hood sides were opened up and a piece of Evergreen glued in.
  2. I think the big fenders are able to "eat up" most of the wheel/tire so they don't appear as large. Thank you for your comments.
  3. Hey - thank you very much for the comments. Neal - it'll probably come along with me on Saturday. Mike - I used Plast-I-Cote sandable grey primer after the body work; sanded; and then shoot 2 coats of Plast-I-Cote sandable black primer. When dry I wet sanded with 600 grit paper. Primers I shoot right from the rattle can. The Colorshift was decanted and sprayed through the airbrush (Paasche H series single action@ 25psi). I'm not sure what the Colorshift paint is. I always cover with Plast-I-Cote primers. What you can't see in the pics is the headliner. I used some medical tape that has little squares all over it. The tape covers the inside of the roof and inside panels. There's another S/D in my stash and when I build it I'll do something else - sand off the chrome trim and window trim and glue 1/2 round Evergreen to it. The top window trim would then go all the way to the back or maybe even wrap around the back. I'm thinking using the 1/2 round for some ribs on the roof too.
  4. Thanks, Harry. It was quite a decision to try that paint job. The great talent we have on this forum is an inspiration for me to break new ground in painting and detailing my builds. heck, if it wasn't for MCM, I'd still be building like I used. The best part is that I'm still having fun building.
  5. This puppy is looking real good!
  6. I just posted pics of a new build and copy/paste didn't work at all. I had to control v to paste into the forum.
  7. Thank you, guys. It's pretty near the top of best builds for me. You might want to check out the Citrus Coupe I just posted. I think that's my best one yet.
  8. Nope. Crazyjim was still there. I wasn't getting email notices so I went in and clicked on every box that was available. Now I get email notices. That's the only thing I changed on the forum and haven't changed a thing on my computer. Still have the same Photobucket account and it looks the same and appears to act the same. Just the forum is different. It doesn't make sense to me that some pics come over with a right click to paster and others I have use control v.
  9. Do you have PVC pipe out there? I have a piece of PVC that's about the correct diameter for tubs and I'm pretty sure it was originally intended for a sink drain. It has a much thinner wall than PVC for water under pressure.
  10. I'm liking this one. Nice interior.
  11. George, I thought the cap would look cool inside on top of the fuel cell. Dummy here forgot to sand off the filler door on the driver side so I had to put a chrome cap there too. Thanks Nick & Felix for the comments.
  12. I'm using XP and IE8 for a couple of more weeks. New machine will have Windows 7 and I'm going to use Firefox. What's really strange is having no problem with 3 pics clicking on Photobucket and right click paste on the forum. The last 2 pics copied from from Photobucket but I had to use control v to paste on the forum. Those are my castings, Bill and are available through Crazy Scale Auto Parts. I've just added some Holley Dominator carbs, electronic ignition module, old style voltage regulator, and those cast aluminum (I think) gas pedels.
  13. Very strange. I posted my '40 Ford S/D. The first 3 pics went easy this time. Clicked on the IMG box at Photobucket and it changed to copied. Went over to the forum and right clicked "paste". The pics pasted. The next 2 pics I wasn't able to paste in the forum so I tried the control v and that worked. Thank you for the assitance but there are still issues with the "new" forum.
  14. Here's some pics of my latest build. AMT '40 Ford Sedan/Delivery. I shot the body with decanted Rusto-leum Colorshift paint and then came back with HOK silver basecoat and candy purple on the side panels. I used an index card to try and get tricky.
  15. Before the new server I would open Photobucket, go to a particular picture, click on the bottom box (it would say "copied", go over to my posting in the forum and paste the pic. Photobucket seems to be working the same, but when I go back to the forum and right click there's no "paste" option. I have pics of my latest build to share.
  16. I built my present booth from the dimensions of the Pace 24" Super Mini, except I used a bathroom exhaust fan. It seems to work fine but I'm tired of hearing about explosions, I have the money, so what the heck?
  17. Not a problem. I'd be happy to provide a short review.
  18. Yeah, I know the Pace unit does, but I was trying to ask Dale how he lights his Paasche unit.
  19. What did you do to light it up?
  20. Good looking paint job. What about several shades of grey for the interior?
  21. I think it'll work. I'm tired of hearing about bathroom exhaust fans that blow up. I don't need more explosions in my life. One tour of Vietnam was enough.
