  1. I usually miss the show because I don't look through the TV guide. I'll have to check it later.
  2. The grill shell looks '35 Auburn. I don't think Auburn made trucks, though. Parts from all over the place - that helps make it rat rod - Right?
  3. Thanks, Wayne.
  4. Lots of logo stuff you have, Jon. Wish I would have known about them before I started. Now that I have started, I'm going to keep going, but bookmark your fotki site. I've added Isky Cams, Wynn's Friction Proofing, NHRA, NSRA, Goodguys, Munroe, Moroso, M/T, Pennzoil, Cherry Bomb, Moon, Auto Meter, Jahn's, Eibach, Comp Cams, Street Glow to my arsenal. The page is almost full.
  5. Hey thanks folks. It's a very nice kit. Everything fit well. I might get another one if Hobby Lobby has one (I have a 40% off coupon).
  6. I want to do some updating to my photo layout and have been putting together a bunch of supplier logos. I took them off the internet and resized to .52" across and let them proportion themselves. I have - Accel, American Racing, Borla, B&M, Castrol, Champion, Clay Smith, Craftsman, Cragar, Crane, Edelbrock, Engle, ESSO tiger, Firestone, Fram, Goodyear, Hays, Holley, Hooker, Hurst, Jegs, Jim Beam, K&N, Lunati, Mallory, Model Cars magazine, M&H Racemaster, Monogram, Mr. Gasket, MSD, NOS, Optima, RC Cola, Revell, Simpson, STP, Summit, Sunoco, USMC, Valvoline, Weiand, street scene, couple of babes (no nudity), POW/MIA flag, American flag. If I missed your favorite, please let me know. When I fill a page, I'll be more than happy to email a .jpeg file to you. All you'll have to do is print it in color on photo paper.
  7. Thanks, Felix. Appreciate it.
  8. I was watching your WIP, Hertsi. The scooter came out really good. The colors make it stand out. I'm happy you painted the gold trim on the seat.
  9. Thank you for the comments. I did go over to the Summit Racing website. They have Cherry Bomb mufflers in the round tube shape and flat shape. Both are red. For some reason, turbo mufflers from Corvairs sticks in my head. This might all be a mute point. I've been made aware of mufflers made from aluminum tubing that's used by RC airplane people. It's kind on wing shaped but a little hammering brings it oval. Polish it up (paint it it red), slap a couple pieces of Evergreen on the ends, drill out for the pipes, and you're ready to go. The vent window posts are another story. I can never get BMF to hold on vent posts and I'm NOT going to paint them chrome silver.
  10. Tires are from the kit - parts box wheels. The exhaust system is Testor's Steel. Only the mufflers are red. I've painted the mufflers red on just about every model I've ever built.
  11. Thanks. Picked up Model Masters Flat Interior Tan and Raw Sienna for the interior. A long time ago we used some kind of turbo muffler and they were always red. I think the cherry bomb mufflers were round, not oval, but were also red. You think I should have saved that Skyline engine and put in the Charger?
  12. Mark, the mufflers are Testor's Red enamel #1103. Looking forward to Jaxcon, Rob. There's a show in Melbourne this month but don't exactly when. The Table Top cruisers are putting it on. And then there's supposed to be a show in Tampa October 14-16 that ties in with the SE street rod nationals. Don't have details on that either, but I thinks it's the MAGS people. Thank you both for your comments.
  13. Maybe hard to see in the pics but I painted the car HOK Strattus blue and then on the indentations on the hood and sides, I fogged in HOK Lapis blue. It's subtle, but there. BMF, flocked, wired, plumbed, kit tires with parts box wheels that were shot with Alclad chrome and the spokes painted Testor's Steel. I massaged the headers and exhaust so the collector hook up with the stock exhaust with polished aluminum tips.
  14. You may want to try spray adhesive for the top boot. Hold the can relatively far form the boot (18-24"). Spray it on, let dry, spray semi-gloss black, done. Looks pretty good and is relatively inexpensive.
  15. I hate those testors acrylic paints and avoid them like the plague. Never had much luck with them and brush strokes. I'll stick with the enamels.
  16. Nice build, Rob. It's going to look terrific pulling the trailer.
  17. I've been watching the local paper and Ebay for a 1:1 Geo Tracker. Thought maybe it could be a good project car.
  18. Prayers and thoughts are with you and your wife.
  19. Beautiful! How do you drive it on the street with no plates?
  20. I agree, John. Thanks Jairus. But a question. If you just cutoff the frame rail and glue it as shown, wouldn't that make the frame shorter?
  21. Hurry up and clear it, Slim. Holy cow!! :D
  22. Looks like you've been busy, Rick. Is this Escudo thing the same as a Samuri? Love the details inside and the rear plate holder.
  23. That's pretty cool, Carl.
  24. We've done okay, Eelco. We have our memorial in Washington, DC and many ohters across the country. We've had our welcome home parades (Washington, DC, NY, Chicago, LA).
  25. Nice. Very nice and very SHINY!
