I have used nail polish for decades. Still my favorite, and cheapest, way to paint. I prep body with a lacquer primer surfacer, then a sealer, wet sand, and then thin nail polish with lacquer thinner, starting at 200%, then down to 100% (2 parts thinner, one part paint, then one to one) I have the best results from "NAPA" brand slow reducer/thinner, but have good results from City Mill (Our local hardware store) lacquer thinner. The key is light coats, and let it flash out in between. Nail polish has thousands of different colors, and are relatively cheap I buy the .99 cents ones, unless the "Revlon" brands have a color I really want or need. Just go with wife or girl friend to buy, those looks the girls at the counter give me heeby jeebies......

I don't think I have ever been more excited before a show than this year's NNL West. Look at the highlights: Jim Keeler is our special guest Our west coast crew will be there: Darryl Gassaway, John Oszajca, Kurt Wilson, and our NNL West Family Maybe it's because the magazine is on time, ahead of schedule Or maybe it's because Kelly is coming with me, first time in over ten years Or, could it be Biscuit and Blues on Saturday night Or, just maybe, a great room at the St. Francis after a night of blues and cajun food in San Fran? All I know is the NNL West 2009 is going to be a weekend to remember! It's going to be a great show, probably one of the best ever. Recession? That's only a word. It's the spirit of this country that will get everyone through the hard times. Okay, I pau!

And get your okole down to the NNL West and you will meet the person behind the legend. Yes, SHE will be there, her first show with me since I started MCM. Last show she went to was NNL East back in 97, I think, when we took over Plastic Fanatic. -

Any suggestions on laptops???
Gregg replied to cruz's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
MACS rule!!!! Will be picking up MacBook Air for shows and traveling, and portable LCD projector to flash photos on wall while shooting. Had a Titanium PowerBook for years, till I rolled over in bed and cracked the screen. Picked up new white MacBook, it's fast, and doesn't know how to crash. Home system is a killer: dual 2.3ghz, 8GB Ram, two 1.5 TB hard drives, two 24" monitors one 19", four external HD's about 3TB total, two 13x19 printers, laser printer, etc etc. etc. Sure, there are not as much programs for MACs but you can run Windows on the new MACs now anyway! -

We are on schedule, and ahead of the game now! Seriously, this could not have been done without Harry's help and energetic enthusiasm to get MCM on track! April issue out in March? OMG@@@!!!!!

Yes, it's true. Model Cars is bringing in Jim Keeler all the way from Salt Lake City to be our special guest at the great NNL West March 7, 2009. Jim is a icon of our hobby, and a very dear friend. I hope this motivates some of you who where still deciding on whether or not to come out to the NNL West. See you all in a couple of weeks!
