Great news Henry, glad things sorted out for you (and us. )..
-
G'day Clay, (traditional Aussie welcome ) and welcome mate. Yep, another avid follower right here, this will be a very kool project to watch unfurl.....(note to self, get into these 1/16....forget the 1/12 stuff... )

Darryl, shaping up as another winner I'd say mate. Your builds (and the amazing detail you squeeze in) are a joy to see unfold.

68 Camaro El General Pro Mod (updates 05/06/12)

Tyrone, Chris has hit it spot on man......you NEED to step up, that's all there is too it mate. 1/16 is the way of the future. (not that I've got there yet...) Would love to see you tackle one of these at your leisure....I'm sure there would be lessons for us all to learn. -
Thanks Tyrone, Joe and and Jeff. Well, between a session in the garden and a few odd jobs, I did get a bit more done yesterday. Splashed a little primer and paint of the rear member...Makes the added extras a bit more obvious now it's not all white and cream. Top mounts for the wheelie bars are in view here too Rear frame and cage top Roughed up a digital "Racepac" style module for the dash And a bracket to hold it Been working on rear brakes this arvo....if they turn out as I hope, you'll have pics over the next few days. Thanks again for taggin' along guys. cheers Greg

Hi Nicolas and welcome. That's a pretty stunning entry too I might add. Love the modifications you already have done and what you plan to do. The convertible is a nice unique idea. LOVE the rims too. Check some of your local hobby shops (or online). As sometimes, they have wheels and tyres for the older 1/12 remote control cars. I know most are 1/10 these days...but if you have a good look around, you may find some old stock 1/12.

ROM, Noooooo ! It's getting toooo close to being finished....or I should say completed. Paintwork and decals look MINT ! And the jacket is a great touch, great stuff man. This has been such a joy to follow and see it evolve, as have your skillz mate. You've accepted each challenge, and stepped up each time. Great work. Now, getterdone ! -
Jack, SUPER work again mate. Hey, I'm diggin' these bead blasted brass chassis. Great advise/tip regarding those tubs too (front mounting bracket). That's going into my memory bank (as long as I don't forget)....

The tank looks great Chris, and I'm diggin' the mounting style that U. Keith mentioned. Would be an easy way to mount, and still be very accessible. Keep'em coming mate. -

Man....this looks SIC !.................. Tyrone, I gotta say man, IF my 1/12 build turns out HALF as good as this, I'll be a happy man. GREAT work mate. -
Thanks so much guys. Chris, you're already doing a stellar job on the Funny.....no need to "step up your game" mate. Rom, I can spin a good yarn (story).....not so good with needles. Luis, the Zed has actually been a recent visitor to the bench.......but it got kinda crowded, so it went back in the garage. Dave, something wrong with my rear....? Oh..........Mark Williams' rear............... Saving the 9inch for my next Camaro. Well, bar work...................Sheesh, the guys who build these things got real can have it......They deserve everything they charge to build them if you ask me. Ok, so no one said it would be easy....but then again, brass and solder would have made it easier in my opinion.... Next one. This is just a pictorial update in stages, as it all relates to the same area. Just a few new bars added each time. Still a good ways to go, having just finished boxing up the section above the diff. (shock mounting points) (Pay no attention to the angle of the shocks, they were just pushed back out of the way...) (Joints still require lots of finishing off......) Hope to get some more completed tonight, and possibly a good few hours again tomorrow...... Stay tuned, and thanks a bunch for hangin' in there. cheers Greg

Ken, I echo Joe's thoughts....man, you work fast. But I can tell, you have put plenty of hours into it. I sure admire your dedication and perseverance...I wish I could get obsessed enough to get more done on my builds. Keep at it mate. -

Aye Chris, the pedal looks right at home sitting in there mate. GREAT work my friend. -
Bart, yeah....I guess it's back to front compared to how most mount the wishbone. ?? But it seems to work ok, and stops any side to side movement. The cross bar (between the upright mounts) is also glued, er...welded to the centre section of the diff. So there isn't any free movement nose to tail. I think that's right. Thanks everyone. Well, having made a start on the front struts, and knowing I have a kool set from Jim sitting here waiting........for the next build...... I decided to get a move on the rear strut/shocks. These were made in a similar manner to the fronts, moving piston too, so they will function, if required..... Oh, I threw some paint on 'em too..... Bolted in place, I can get into some more bar work.......no, not drinking...... The mounting bolts are only temporary....I have some nickel plated ones cut to size, ready for final assembly.... And I started making mounts for the wheelie bar assembly.... The top bars will mount to the top of the diff centre. That catches things up a bit guys...be back soon when I have some bar work to show you all. Thanks for hanging around cheers Greg

Hey Henry, hope you haven't hit some sort of major hurdle mate. Another +#1 fan here for sure.....I can see at least a 1/16 and maybe a 1/12 in my future.......
-
Sorry Bill, I could think of nothing better to say but echo Dave's thoughts. A pure joy to watch such craftsmanship evolve into a thing of beauty. Nuff said. Great work.
