As Bart said, ROLLING Artwork ! Absolutely amazing build Dave, it looks like it all turned out fantastic. And yeah, if Jim has trouble finding a home for it, you have my address.................................. 10/10 mate.

GREAT work guys. Fantastic to see the younger generation stepping into our hobby too. Karsten, with you as a mentor, I'm sure Ben will continue to thrive and enjoy his work, and our hobby will reap the rewards. Good luck.

Bill, absolutely jaw-dropping fantasticly insane work. As Tyrone said, that's about as real as it gets mate. Looks beautiful.

Hey Scott, I can't think of a whole lot more to add here, most things the guys covered pretty well. What I would like to give you, is a hint (kind push ) towards maybe some 1/12 photo-etch.....??? I realise it will generate it's own drama regarding sizes, thickness etc.....but really, there ain't much out there. Not too much at all really, even as far as a base "subject" goes, but that has been helped immensly by Tim @ TDR. Hoping some of the guys will jump on Dave's/Tim's new 69 Camaro ProMod in the 1/12 scale.....I KNOW I will be...........soon. Food for thought...
-
X 2 Dave, as Romell said, no rush man.....and I know they will be perfect replicas when you're finished. I'll be needing at least 2 pair...... (1/12 of course.... )

Hi Jack. Great start to this one mate. The chassis looks fantastic. I'm really liking that bead blasting trick too....what a sweey idea. Good luck, and keep us posted.

Hey Chris, I echo everyone's sentiment's regarding your new job mate, congrats. They were some mighty big hours you were pulling there.....I struggle @ 40/week these days..... Trust it all goes well for you man. Looking towards some more great work soon. -
Hey, thanks so much Derrick, Bill, Mike, Bart and Rom. Bart, only a non-pictorial update again, I'm sorry.... Had a real slump hear lately, with too many off-line things going on. Couple of weeks ago, we (our area) experienced some of the worst flooding sinse 1974......It got pretty high around my neck of the woods.... And even though our house (closest to the river in our tiny town) was not affected, our whole town was placed on alert, as there were fears a dam may have breached..... The dam is maybe 20 miles upstream, and we all had to be ready to evacuate, IF the situation got any worse....NOT a nice feeling. My poor old Mum, who still is with me, had never had such a thing happen in her 92 years. She was quite upset at the thought, as you can imagine.... What to pack, what to take, what to leave behind........Thankfully, we were among the lucky ones, as it never happened. Other areas close by did get evacuated and many lost everything. The worst part of our worry was that the first alert came at night....you have no idea how high the waters are, or how close. NO sleep that night. They say that possesions can always be replaced......but it would take another 50 years to replace any of my model stuff... I was prepared to leave it all behind though, instead just loading the car with clothes, valuables and important documents..... Anyway, with that behind us, I HAVE worked on the Camaro this week. Started fabbing up some rear end stuff, getting the 4-link set up, ready to add some bar work to the tail end. Then hopefully finish tidying up the main cage. Also pulled the belt guard off the blower. It was a degree or 3 off, and the belt was going to rub. So that is getting modified. AND, Jim (MicroNitro) is doing me the honour of making some bits....More on that later. Stay tuned guys......

That is a great question Dom. One I can not answer though, sorry. I have several parts now from Tim, made by Shapeways, and I can say, they are SUPER ! I'll be ordering more soon, so next time I email them (Shapeways) I will ask what type/brand of printer they use..I'd like to know too. (not that I'll ever afford one.... ) Dave, having just talked with Tim the last couple of nights, he had some good news which may set a few hearts racing...... He has uploaded ALL the info to his site, TDR Innovations, in ALL scales. Right down to the little tiny tackers...1/43.....Who wants to be first with a detailed build on that. Unfortunately, Shapeways are experiencing delays in uploads (?) so they don't show up on there yet. I can see this helping out a LOT of people....a lot of 1/24 and 1/25 guys will surely jump on these, hey Tyrone. Can't wait to get an order in for a 1/12 version now.... Oh, and them maybe step up to 1/8. Early - mid March is what Tim is hoping for, regarding an expected availabilty date....Get ready guys........ -

Ken, the body work looks stunning. I haven't followed the dirts for years, so I'm kinda out of tune with what's currant etc, but this build looks the goods for me. 10/10 stars. And I really like your idea for the names as sponcorship....very unique, and it will add lots of appeal. Good stuff mate. -
AWESOME ! I LOVE the interior shot, looking up at the dashboard. It looks like you had to lay down on the floor (with seats removed) to take the pic. Great build overall, and a true masterpiece.
-
WOW indeed...... Dave, you weren't kidding, hey. This is looking fantabulous ! But you promised no more 1:1 pics, right.....? The level of detail just in that shot of the data logging/fuel regulator set up......outstanding ! And the chutes look superb. (man....not looking forward to that trip to the fabric shop to buy chiffon.... ) and I can't send the Mrs....(still need one of them too. ) Can't wait to see this baby lay it's first set of lines......

Rom, I'm not sure they are even still available. It is probably a good couple (maybe 4 or 5) years ago that I can recall.... I had asked about them (can't recall what forum) some time back, and got no concrete evidance to their where abouts or origin.... BUT, I am sure I have seen them......gonna have to do some more searching....... -
69 Daytona Pro Mod 1/16th scale updated 4/3/12 ..It's a wrap!
stump replied to Romell R's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Because it's what we do Rom. We will know it's there, even if most wont see it.....detail can be an amazing thing. OUTSTANDING work Romell, and yes, as already pointed out, your skill with the iron is boundless. It's one I have yet to master.... Keep up the fantastic work buddy, you have got my creative juices flowing once more, thanks. -

Chris, you've slipped up on your meds again, huh.... Just kiddin' man, you know that, right. Sorry I ain't been around much lately, otherwise I would've been ridin' ya to have this done by now..... You have a great eye for detail, and I am so pleased to see it getting channeled into such an awesome piece of craftmanship. (two thumbs up buddy ) Oh, and I saw mension of "functional DZUS fasterners"...Did some one have them available at some point...? I recall seeing them some time ago.... Actually, they may NOT have functioned, but were mult piece, so you could have the main body and the pin itself, mounted "un-done"....?? -
Well, not a lot to add photo wise, but should have that sorted over the weekend. Spent this morning re-making a heap of new decal artwork. (copied and pasted/re-sized in a Word doc.) I received my new white decal sheets this week, so I sorted my decals into groups which would suit clear or white background....(I hope ) Printed out 3 sheets and they all look excellent so far.....can't wait to try them. Also spent considerable time on the hat again..... Been mentioned enough times as great advise by many, thought I'd better take it in...................."if it don't look right, re-do it....." I had forgotten to add any kind of stem/fixture for the throttle cable.........DOH ! Well, one has been quickly fabbed up and glued in place.....Pics tomorrow/evening................. Also have most of the AN fittings in place for the remainder of the injection plumbing. Season's Greeting and Best Wishes to everyone, I hope it is truly magical and safe Christmas to all. Thanks my friends Greg

Joe, they were sprayed with dark Gunmetal, then topped with Champaign Gold, both from Tamiya rattle cans. It gives them a nice light goldish hue, quite similar to pics I've seen.

Hey guys, thank you all very much for the wonderful comments..it really gives a guy a good kick in the pants, which is often needed. Dave, that would be the ultimate trifecta for me...1/16, 1/12 and.............................1/8. Will have to see how things go....cheers mate.
