  1. Dudek does some awesome work, although I've yet to buy any of it. Are those going on the 50 Caddy?
  2. There really is a display like that (or very, very similiar). Somebody on another model board (don't remember who) was part of the team that built it and even had in progress pics of it.
  3. Welcome, Mr. 1000! Enjoy the forum, there's lot of great stuff (and builders) here!
  4. The brick is printed and embossed paper from the dollhouse section of my LHS. Ummm... Steve H, not Irv... I only go by Irv when I'm gardening (now, where'd I put that darn rake?!?!)... and sorry, its not for sale, but you get the pics for free
  5. Thats a beautiful Beast! Who knew a 2 ton + car could look that slinky? The casting looks to be of the usual, superb quality that Modelhaus is famous for, which is why they're first on my list to go to!
  6. I only took pics of the Auto models... not too interested in the military side this year... Enjoy... http://public.fotki.com/ModelCarGuy2003/mo...ickoff-classic/
  7. Here's another idea, not tested by me, but I was talking to the guy that did this... He lays down a base color, brush paints white glue over it, then brush paints the top color over the wet white glue...
  8. She's a beauty... Very deserving of a 1st place, Congrats.
  9. Very nice rebuild... Great color and stance!
  10. Nice lookin' build!
  11. Sorry  ... There's always been "Something" about that design that never worked for me... Although I've seen a number of customs like this one that really look great, so I guess it does have "good bones"!
  12. Enjoy it! As daughters grow, they get less interested. But its always fun to build with them. My daughter is 14 today, and is getting one of my Batmobiles for her b-day. I enjoy building with her, so I can break into my stash for something she likes (now I have to find another on eBay!)
  13. Excellent Build! It nice to see something tasteful done with, IMO, a not so tastefully designed kit. Great color combo and scallop idea, that works very well.
  14. Crossin' the finish line in style! Nice build.
  15. Schweeeeet! Excellent color and flames, perfect stance, nice engine... Yep, its got it all!
  16. Thats why I drilled partway thru the top tree, to give the brass pin a locater hole.
  17. Thats Cool! 8)
  18. I've seen another with Yenko stripes, but I really like where you placed your side stripe. That fits the shape of the car very well. Again with the similiarities... My Camaro project in Tamiya Bright orange... I'll stop mentioning that, now...
  19. I removed the kit pin and drilled thru the bottom tree (also halfway thru top tree) to put a brass pin in. You can then glue and paint the frame and pin the forks on later.
  20. Yes, you are and yes, you do seem to have quite a bit of fun with it! Nice little bit of casting work... saves all that cleanup/reshaping time and effort I see others do! Hmmm... 47... Not quite there yet, myself... give it a few more months. BTW, Your Models really stand out in the MCM Texas shootout coverage!
  21. Nice work so far! We're kinda on the same wavelength lately... here's my mustang, built in 2006...
  22. Thanks! The sad part is... I had to steal my wife's reading glasses! I just can't focus on that tiny stuff anymore!
  23. I treated myself to a mini vacation and went to the Atlanta show. Southern Hospitality at its best! I'd recommend the Atlanta show to anyone, I had that much fun.
  24. Between two paint stir sticks, availbale for free at your local hardware store... cheap and efective for straightening any wire or solder. 2 problems I've seen with solder... Never use flux core solder, the flux leaks and attacks plastic and paint. Longer lengths of solder will sag, also, over time.
  25. Neat build, even if I don't understand Off Roaders! You seem to have a runaway truck, jumping rocks with no driver, and I think you lost a bed panel on the last jump!
