You and me both. -
Beautiful build. Excellent detail. I only hope that mine looks half as good when I build it.
-
I got mine from Replicas and Miniatures Co. of MD. Nice piece too.

Those caps were never produced. I would like a set myself.

Nice job!!! When I build my Boss 302, I was planning on White on Black.
-
Nice build. I had a company car just like that one, but it was an '81.

This is great modeling. I tip my hat to you Dennis on this one.

I can see the smoke coming out your ears, as the wheels in your head are spinning fast!!!! I can't wait to see what you do with this one.

I just saw this discussion this evening, and since my first car was a 65 Chevelle, I have a lot of interest in this one. I bought several Revell '65 Malibu kits when they first came out, but I was dissatisfied with the roof. I built one as a phantom Z16 convertible instead. I purchased a used craftsman 65 Chevelle Malibu SS, which I plan to use as a guide to do an accurate 65 Malibu SS 2Door hardtop, utilizing the excellent, comprehensive, Model Car Garage 65 Malibu Photoetched set, which by the way was used on the above model. The roof on that Revell 65 does not look as if it will be too difficult to correct to my satisfaction. I have an extra 66 MPC 66 Bonneville that can be converted into a 4 door hardtop, but I may decide to go in a different idea on that as I have all of the 65 and 66 GM full size models to choose from for such a project in the future.

1968 Chevy Corvette 427 L/88 Convertible resto Update! 2/2/19
Ron Hamilton replied to MrObsessive's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I really like where you are going with this Bill. I did one of those when the kit first came out in Black, with a red interior. Where it is now, I do not know, but I do have another unbuilt one, as well as several Revell 69's of various versions. I recently got a MPC 69 builtup that is pretty complete and very clean. I plan to do to it what you did on your 74. A clean stock rebuild. Gotta hit the sack now Bill. -
That is some fantastic work!!!!! I was lucky to find this one a couple of years ago at a reasonable price I have been wanting one for a long time, and it's white styrene too. I saw an earlier year grille in resin I would like to get. I would love to get a window van kit like I had when I was a teenager.

Raised details, like trim and badges

Several years ago, there were chrome mylar transfers for several popular model kits, much like the ones included in several Tamiya kits. Last year, I purchased a set for my Tamiya Mercedes 300SL. There were some chrome decals available, which I used on this 58 Chevy Biscayne, which were made by Vintage Racing Miniatures for Corvettes. They were quite nice, and may still be available from him. -
I have looked under several unrestored Pontiacs of the period at a restoration shop. The floors were satin black, with body color overspray, where the width of overspray varied from plant to plant. When I went to the Baltimore Plant in 1970, I saw Chevrolet Chevelles and Monte Carlos that were painted that way.

You mean something like this? I bought it this way, and I plan to strip it, and refinish it in Black, with a Black and white interior. Other than the red Sun Visors and the silver accents, it is unpainted and un-sanded, and it's all there.

1988 - 1991 Ford LTD Crown Victoria Scratchbuild
Ron Hamilton replied to DEL's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
That's why I had to remind them. I would love to get one of these and turn it into a Crown Victoria with the 1/2 Vinyl Roof, alloy wheels and whitewalls in Triple black. A good friend of mine had a 2 Door in that color combination. I like that series of Ford very much. -

Yeow!!! I never thought that would ever happen. It took a long time, but that is tragic. -
Very nice concept and execution. It gives me an idea of how to deal with my Johan 60 Chrysler New Yorker that I have to restore.

Missing Link Resin did a nice 64 Galaxie 500 4 Door Sedan Transkit for the AMT 64 Galaxie 500 XL Hardtop kit. They also did the Galaxie 500 full wheelcovers in chrome, which I used on my build in lieu of the dog dish hubcaps and steelies that came with the transkit. The original Men in Black LTD Crown Victoria is the variation of this kit that Dwayne has created when he did this car. It should be forthcoming. -
Excellent!!!!

Exquisite work, as always Steve.

I was watching " Men in Black" today on tv, and I thought of this kit. I can't wait to see some of these built.
