  1. That is some excellent work, but it costs more than the original kit. If you want a motor, you have to pay the freight.
  2. I have both a hardtop that I built almost 30 years ago, and a Modelhaus Resin Convertible. They are both in the basement collecting dust. I had planes to do a more accurate 67 using a Revell 66, as I have never been satisfied with the detail in the windshield area on the MPC. I built my first one Xmas 1966, when I got the GTO and the Corvette.
  3. I saw a one -to-one Wednesday night on the highway. Sweet car!
  4. Go get em Tom. I rebuilt a 64 hardtop several years ago using the same technique. I have a 65 Barracuda to restore, and I may slip a Duster Chassis under it.
  5. I have several 63 Impala SS kits from both AMT and Revell, including an AMT 63 annual that I hope to restore. It was never painted nor sanded, but was built as a mild kustom. I was successful in removing most of the kustom scoops from it. I'm torn between building it as a replica stock or a street machine. I plan to do two as Z11 drag racers, as I bought 2 MCW Impala interior kits, and decals to do Malcolm Durham's and Dave Strickland's cars. The AMT 62 Bel Air Chassis works well with little modifications.
  6. Exactly. I want to do a 65 or 66 GM full size 4 door hardtop. If a new kit doesn't come out in the next couple of years, I may do one myself. I'm not restricted to Chevrolet though. Also, I would like to do a 65-6 Ford Galaxie or Mercury Marauder 4 door hardtop. My grandma had a 65 Galaxie 4 door hardtop that I would love to do a build of.
  7. Very Nice! That will wake you up in the morning.
  8. They did have the same backs, and I have those kits, but no cushions or seat backs. I can put an engine together from what I have.
  9. I have a set of those wheelcovers and the Model Car Garage Photoetch set waiting for this one. I have no use for the Supernatural version, but I want a 4 door hardtop.
  10. Excellent collection. At one time or another, I had all of those kits. I still have some of them in the collection waiting to be built. Right now I am restoring a 66 Chrysler 300 hardtop I picked up a couple of weeks ago. Its missing a seat, seatback, and steering wheel. I think I have some of The pieces I need, if not, I'll have to find something. Your Spanish Red 66 300 is the inspiration behind this one. I haven't decided on the color yet..
  11. I have a set of them for a 63 Bonneville build. My Dad had a set of them on his 62 Starfire.
  12. Kudos to you Steve. The Awards are well deserved!
  13. That one is drop dead gorgeous!!!!
  14. I like that! I have two unbuilt 69 Cadillacs, one a Promolite Resin (absolutely beautiful) and a JoHan kit. The Promolite resin kit came with a boot. A friend of mine had a Black one with a Red Interior that is almost as pretty as the one you built.
  15. I mocked mine up, but I have a few more things to do to it. I want to add a vinyl roof. Your build is an inspiration.
  16. Wow!!!
  17. Who could ask for anything more? Beautiful work!
  18. A friend of mine was working on a 60 wagon where he combined the AMT kit chassis and powertrain and made the wood framing to do it as a Country Squire. I built mine as a Country Squire making the framing and using pins as the studs, along with the kit roof rack. Your model looks promising. Do what you feel is right.
  19. I have a boatload of AMT and Revell 63 Chevrolets including an annual hardtop rebuilder, which is very clean and unpainted, but has a set of kustom tail lamps welded in where I cannot remove them, and a convertible conversion that I did that I once considered scrapping. I have recently decided to strip it and clean it up to see where I would be on it. The scripts on that one are unusually crisp, and I used the chassis and running gear from the AMT 62 Bel Air. I love 61-61 Chevies, and I have quite a few kits in the stash to build.
