  1. We know whose workmanship would be worth the big bucks. Nuff said.
  2. I am quite sure that Chevrolet will probably keep the front engine car, at least as long as it sell in sufficient quantities to keep the brand profitable for the market Select dealerships will be able to sell the mid-engine car if their sales and service CSI average is high. Mediocre dealerships need not apply. Unfortunately, the car may be great, but the buying masses will still look at the car as a Chevy, albeit the ultimate Chevy. Ford makes its customers and dealers jump through hoops to get a Ford GT. Chevrolet has to do the same. Limited availability is the key. Proper pricing is the next requirement. The car should be priced high enough at retail to attract only serious players. Poseurs need not apply, even though a few may be able to get one with enough money and corporate connections. In my opinion, a dealership that places a ridiculous markup over msrp should not be able to get the car through normal channels. Only the cream of the crop dealerships with knowledgeable sales and service personnel, management and ownership shall be rewarded with the opportunity to sell this car. At the end of the day, a quality car needs to be produced from job one. The car should have a very short option list, as well as the color and trim palate. The car has to be sharp and purposeful. Not trendy. As a modeler, I want to see a high quality, full detailed kit of this car. We need GM to select, cooperate with, and force the model manufacturer to produce a quality kit of the car. I want to see the selected model manufacturer consult with expert modelers on the subject to critique each stage of each assembly. We know who they are. The Model has to properly represent the actual subject faithfully. No goofy tire/wheel combinations, no misshapen thick bodies, no thick distorted glass, no cartoon like interiors, no engine blobs, nor funky stance. The promo contract should also go to the kit manufacturer as a reward for a job well done. And most of all, the kit should be released at the time the actual car is released. Or at least while the car is hot.
  3. Not even as a mint unbuilt kit.
  4. That one takes me back. When I was a teenager, my best friend's sister had a boyfriend with a B5 70 Challenger SE. I bought a Jimmy Flintstone Resin transkit to do a similar car. His car had wire wheels on white lettered tires. I am going with either road wheels or Rallye Wheels on white lettered tires.
  5. You got my attention with that one. I have an un-built 60 Convertible in the stash. I haven't decided where I am going with that one. Seeing yours will give me some inspiration. I love those big Imperials.
  6. Go for it Tommy. I have brought worse back to life. It looks like other than the crushed roof, and no glass, its salvageable.
  7. Its not worth anything to me. Not my style, and for what I would do with it, too much work. Someone will absolutely love it.
  8. I have that one in the basement. I love El Caminos.
  9. Wow! The price just went up on that body.
  10. Fantastic!
  11. You did well with that one Rex.
  12. That is rough. I have never sent out or received a package like that. It breaks my heart to see this type of shipping still exists. I feel for you. I hope that you get satisfaction.
  13. Beautiful Build Dan. I have one suggestion. Corvair Corsas had a silver rear cove area surrounded by a chrome moulding. Really simple to do.
  14. Great Save!!!!!
  15. Beautiful!!!!
  16. The model I am using is moulded in Maroon. I like Grabber Yellow to be different. I bought the Dash and Photoetch from Missing Link. I may go with a Cyclone GT in lieu of the Spoiler. I have decals as well as the grilles to do a 70 or a 71 car.
  17. I got my email today, and while it was a pleasant surprise, I cannot think of anything I need that I don't already have. I have been a loyal customer for a long time, and I have been blessed to have just about everything I need model wise. I have a good stock of Modelhaus Kits and parts I bought for future projects. In the past couple of years since the announcement, I have bought either good used parts, or resin elsewhere. I wish Don and Carol a well deserved retirement, and I thank them for being there when I needed their services. My builds would not have been the same without them.
  18. Tommy, your build is very nice. It is an inspiration to get mine going. I just bought a glue-bomb Revell 70 Torino for the engine, chassis and running gear, and I have an old glue-bomb Cyclone to get the rest from.
  19. Get a copy of the September 2018 issue of Musclecar Review Magazine. It has a very good article on a 65 A990 Plymouth Belvedere. I'm going to use it as a basis of my build.
  20. As did I at the meeting today.
  21. Very nice work. The color combination is exquisite.
  22. I picked up an Arnie Beswick Comet and a built up Revell 70 Torino Cobra for parts, primarily the 429 engine, and 4- speed console and shifter for my 70 Cyclone restoration.
