  1. It really works. I would slip a set of spyders or Baby moons on it. I have a 55 mocked up, but unpainted. I may do it Black.
  2. I am not the conscience of this board, nor do I profess to be. From our private conversation, I do not think that what you want to do is unethical. Copying and re-casting a currently available product from some other company is a problem to me, but something that will probably be not available again is another story. That being said, there are people trying to capitalize on the imminent closing of The Modelhaus, by copying their products. Well, The Modelhaus is not done yet, and as far as I am concerned, and copying any of their exclusive products without their consent is just plain wrong. What happens if someone else were to acquire the business, and continue to offer quality product at a reasonable price? I would be very angry if I made the investment, only to have copies of product out there. Especially if it is substandard. For example, there is a fellow who is selling poorly executed copies of a Motor City Resin's product, as well as other casters, on the premise that he is improving the original castings. From looking at the photos of that stuff, it looks terrible, and he will not get a penny of my money. I know that there are some modelers who are so hungry for unique product will buy form him, and that is their prerogative. I love unique pieces, but I do not want the subject matter that bad.
  3. And that is the Resin Business.
  4. You know AMT did a '68 Chevelle SS 396 as an annual.
  5. It's a slippery slope. If you took a crappy piece of Resin and made it nice, I do no think the market would care. In fact I, for one, would appreciate it. I have a couple of bad pieces in my collection, and I have to do a ton of work to them to make an acceptable model out of it. The better casting would get the business. Some resin kits are unbuildable out of the box, and some are sheer perfection needing just paint. Show us what you are proposing to do, and let the market decide.
  6. I recently bought a resin kit, that I have to make a bunch of changes to correct it to my satisfaction. I am not going to recast it for the masses, but I may ask the original caster if they would want it for their line. I feel that they did the heavy lifting on the project. If not, then that is a different story.
  7. if you are doing it for yourself, no problem, but if you are passing someone's work off as yours with "improvements" for recasting and sale, there will be problems. We have seen this before.
  8. The Replicas and Miniatures engine will work with the Falcon, and I plan to put one in a Maverick or Comet rebuildable I have. and the Mobieus engine will work on big cars and trucks of the era. I have both, and they are very nice.
  9. I just picked up a '64 Plymouth Savoy Station Wagon, which is a resin kit designed to be a transkit for the Lindberg 1964 Belvidere Hardtop. It is not of Modelhaus quality to be sure, but it is workable. I find that a lot of resin wagons out here need work to be absolutely right. I noticed that Paul Hettick is going to market transkits of station wagons. From what I have seen, his work is exquisite, and if I can afford some of them, I am on board.
  10. I have one of those myself. I am not sure about the direction I want to take with it. Showroom stock, custom, or rodded. I'm going with Crown Sapphire and White as the color combo, as I think it is stunning.
  11. Mine will have a hopped up 289. It will be a " streetable" gasser.
  12. Recently, I saw a dilapidated, but restorable 63 Falcon Sprint Convertible. It was red with a red interior. It was beat to hell. I did not go on the property to look closer, but it looked like it was close to being a complete car. I will probably build my 63 convertible as that car in better days. I have a good selection of rebuildable Falcons to do. My sedans and convertible are old, restored and ready for primer and paint, while my Rancheros are unbuilt. I like Falcons too, and J.C.'s build reminds me of a fellow I worked with as a teenager who hot rodded a 61 Falcon. He radiused the rear wheelwells, and installed a hot 289. I cannot see myself putting a Chevy engine in a classic Ranchero. I have a resin 170 6 for my replica stock Ranchero build.
  13. For me? You shouldn't have. It's gorgeous! I love it!
  14. I am really enjoying this build, as I finally scored a 62 to do up stock. I plan to do all of the 1st gen Falcons in Scale. I may do a Ranchero as a gasser, as I have 3 of them, including an original Styline kit.
  15. I really like 57 Ford's.I have yet to build a replica stock one, even though I have several kits.
  16. I have one of the "Branding Iron" '82's I want to re-build. I had an '81 Royal Knight for a demonstator, and really liked that one. Maybe we can get Ray to scale down the 1/24 Scale decals to a set of 1/25. I want to do mine as a burgundy Royal Knight, like what is in the photo.
  17. That version had the K-H "Stripper" mag wheels in it. That is the one I used when I did my S55 Convertible . Pretty nice kit. I still have a Countdown Series kit, but I like the look of that custom merc on the box top of the latest kit.
  18. I have one of the old All American Resin '57 Ford Country Squires in my collection to build. It is based off of the old Revell Multi Piece body tools, but had been masterfully turned into a one piece body with a separate hood. I have had it a long time, and it is very accurate, and compares favorably with the latest Revell '57 Ford Del Rio wagons. I plan to build both of them at the same time, probably in the same color combination.
  19. Very Nice!!!!!! I love the color!
  20. They caught up to me.
  21. I'm just glad that they walked away from the carnage. No matter what our opinions are, NASCAR is driven by what the fans want to see.
  22. That is what I was going to write. Also, the AMT 70 camaro will work with most other 70's Camaros and Firebirds, and the 69 Olds 442 will work under the 68 through 72 MPC and AMT GM "A" bodies.
  23. I am fooling around with a 66 Imperial convertible as I write this. I want to bookend it with my 66 Cadillac, and 66 Lincoln Continental convertible conversion. I may paint all three the same color, like what I did with my 66 Ford, Chevy, and Dodge convertibles.
