  1. I enjoyed it I feel that if you're going to block, your car had better be faster than the one behind you. The drivers are taught not to take no prisoners, drive aggressively, and win at all costs. Period.
  2. Gorgeous!
  3. Years ago, I bought a Monogram 57 Chevy snapper moulded in black. I polished it out, Bare Metaled it, and detail painted it. It looked great. People asked me if I painted it, and I told them what I did. I sold it for some crazy money that someone offered me for it. I told them what I did before they offered me the money, and they did not care. I bought another one to do the same thing to as a slump buster. The Polar Lights prepainted Pontiac GTO's I have came out great too. I did a black convertible, and a turquoise hardtop. I have a saddle tan hardtop to do. I love that 61 Steve.
  4. I did this one from an old Hubley Glue-bomb. and I made my own 67 Concours Estate Wagon from a Revell 66 and 67 Chevelle. and I have to decide on the color of this one.
  5. my, my, my!
  6. Hi Gary! I loved that model then, and I love it now!
  7. I turned the Revell 66 Chevelle wagon into a stocker. I patterned this one after the car in the brochure, using the transkit from Replica's and Miniatures Co. of MD, Model Car World Aztec Copper Paint, and Model Car Garage Photoetch.
  8. I'll try it. As you can see, I have gotten further with this one since the earlier photo.
  9. It does not work for me I have tried it.
  10. He is lurking for now, as his photos are in Photobucket, and their fee to post them is too stiff for his pocketbook. Maybe one day, he will get back to work on his Lincoln Sedan. All it needs is primer, paint, and final assembly.
  11. That 9C1 Nova was a beast. Our county has them, and they were pretty fast. I have been considering trying my hand at doing a 4 door Nova. I had a 78 4 door as a demo when I first got into the car business.
  12. The Missing Link Resin 1968 Ford LTD 4 Door Hardtop Transkit is pretty nice, and is worth finding. In the one- to-one world, the roof panel between the 2 and 4 door hardtop is the same, with the sail panels being different. The gentleman who did the master for the Transkit, Howard Weinstein, is a personal friend of mine, and is a member of our modeling club. I have one of the transkits myself, and I am considering turning mine into a 2- door, and no it is not for sale. If you can get one from Missing Link, do not hesitate.
  13. Your work is pretty good, and you do not have to impress anyone but yourself. Keep it up.
  14. Beep beeeeep!
  15. That looks great. I really like the color, as it is period correct.
  16. That original car was down right ugly!
  17. If I am not mistaken, the Revell 70 Torino Cobra has a set of front fender decals. I really liked the Ford Torino line of cars, having built an original '68 annual. As a matter of fact, when I first started collecting and building vintage annual kits, the 68 and 69 AMT Ford Torino GT sportsroofs were among the first ones I got. I replaced the cracked kit decals with sets from Fred Cady and Keith Marks, which will allow me to build color combinations which were not available with the kit decals. I love that black 69 Cobra that was done by Steve Milbury. I purchased a few extra AMT/Ertl 69 Cobras as kit fodder for any shortages in my annuals, as well as being the base kit for a Modelhaus '68 Torino GT 2 door hardtop resin transkit I have.
  18. Nice! I would love to do a 40, but it is hard for me to come up with a concept. I am leaning towards a stock body with Halibrand Sprints, with a body painted in Maroon or Root Beer Brown, with a saddle tuck and roll gut, and a hot flattie.
  19. A friend of mine had a 73 Olds Cutlass Salon 4-Door with every option, but a sunroof. It had a 455, Turbo 400, and an anti-spin rear axle. He bought it used about in late 77 before the car was restyled in 78. That car was a monster, in that it would break the tires loose while it was rolling if it was nailed. The gas mileage was atrocious of course, and he gave the car up once the insurance company figured out what he had, and put a muscle car surcharge on it after a minor fender bender. We had fun while it lasted.
  20. I have a lot of projects under way right now, and I agree with you on timing with Revell. I would love to do a 74 Gran Torino Sport. Oh well.
  21. I am taking a lot of shortcuts. In fact the Revell Torino kits are the reason that I will be able to do this. What I an going to do is the following: I have a couple of JOHAN Torino NASCAR bodies, which has all of the stock ornamentation. The fuel fill hole in the fender can be filled. The bumper and grille are identical to the replica stock car, so that is no problem. Now here is where the project becomes viable. Motor City Resin does a 72 Gran Torino Transkit. I was able to obtain a complete interior tub, hood, and tail lamps separately for the project, so I am almost there. The Revell chassis has to be tweaked to fit the JOHAN body, and I have to make a rear roll pan. To be sure, this is not a direct drop in, but it can be done. I have a set of Magmum 500 from Missing Link Resin that were JOHAN based, but they look small to me. The one-to-one ran 14" running stock, so they may be made to work. That is the way I am going to approach that one. By the way Mike, I did not mean to hijack your thread with this. I am just giving information, as my project is several years off, as I have a lot on the table right now. By the time I get around to that one, someone else would have done it, and I have no problem with that.
  22. Those are 65-68 Pontiac Rally I wheels. The 69 GP did not have that wheel as a Factory option. The original MPC kit had the deep dish wheel cover as the stock version wheel, and the Rally I wheel for the custom version. I have my original 69 to restore, and I am going to use a set of Rally II wheels on mine. Those wheels look great on that build.
  23. Looks good Ray. One thing though, the "A" pillars were black on that series of Trans Ams. I sold one of those when I was in the car biz. he guy who bought it was a very happy camper.
  24. I test fit the jo han stocker body on the revell chassis, and it will work with a little trimming on the front and rear.
