  1. This is a VAST improvement over the original kit! I like Stacy David but his roadster is an identity crisis. I’ll be buying a pile of these.
  2. Phil, man-o-man, that’s BITCHIN’! While you may not have been able to pull off the flames and pinstripes exactly the McMullen Roadster is still the first thing that comes to mind. Anyone who knows that iconic car will think the same. And, accurate or not it’s still a killer hot rod! ?
  3. My longest running project so far has been 5 years and now I don’t feel bad at all! ? Nice workmanship throughout and I dig the black with French Blue accents. The mish-mash of parts has a very 70’s vibe to me. Like a 60’s built Fad T that got rebuilt with the wheels and other small parts updated.
  4. This is freaking rad! What an awesome combo. Love what you did with the hauler, the ‘66 Nova Pro Street wheels and tires and the blown small block. Perfect!
  5. The Rat Roaster wheels look killer! Definitely use those! I love that Weiand blower setup, too. I used one in my ‘63 Nova Wagon. I may have one to spare. I’ll have a look and let you know.
  6. This is gonna be rad! I followed your fixes in the review thread which look really good. I don’t know these cars well enough to even notice those issues. I really like that you also fit the “aluminum” firewall and side panels from the ‘66 kit. Anxious to see what wheels you go with. I’m hoping they are something 90’s like Weld Draglite’s or Centerline Convo Pro’s. Hey, I’ve got a pile of the Revell A Roadster kits. If you’d like a complete SBC supercharger (or entire engine for the matter) say the word and I’ll put parts in the mail.
  7. After seeing what happened with your build with cup holders no thanks!
  8. Oh man, that turned out WICKED! Love everything about it.
  9. My first model kit was an AMT ‘63 Corvette so I always enjoy seeing them. Love what you did with yours!
  10. Thanks for bringing the thread back up. I followed it closely in real-time and after getting my LX Coupe body I intended to search it out for a refresher. Just as impressive all these years later!
  11. Thank you both so much! Car Craft seems to be resoundingly the gold-standard for the era I was aiming for. ?
  12. Thank you and I appreciate all of your comments throughout the project. Your name was one of a couple that popped up after every update. ?
  13. @tim boyd You get a pass because your notchback experience was much longer ago than mine. But, yes, when comparing the kit and corrected bodies it’s undeniably obvious. And not just with the height of the roof but also the wheel openings, trunk lid edge and rear bumper width as my pictures show. I tried to convince myself it would be okay but in the end I just couldn’t.
  14. Bitchin’! Somebody needed to do it. It’s awesome that it’s that simple to fit the ‘66 chassis in there. Be aware, the way AMT (inaccurately) did the firewall makes it difficult to fit a V8 in there. If possible it would be neat to use all of the “aluminum” engine bay panels from the ‘66, too.
  15. This is awesome! It’s remarkable how close the two kits are to each other. I believe there was discussion around this very Kit-bash in one of the ‘65 kit threads but you’re the first person here to make it happen. I’m all wagon’d-out but I do have another so maybe at some point… Nice work, man!
  16. Thanks, Greg! I’m really glad I got one. I tried convincing myself that the kit body would be okay and that was fine for a while. You’ll notice I did everything else but paint the body and with how the rest of the parts and assemblies turned out I just couldn’t do it. It figures I’d hear from you after I found one elsewhere, LOL! Totally joking there! Mike made me a deal I’m happy with so it’s all good.
  17. Would have been cooler if they included 2 pairs of slicks so that way we’d be able to have 2 full sets of wheels and tires. Still pretty neat that they packaged the wheels and tires at all, though.
  18. Nice! Looks fantastic in metallic green and I’m generally not a fan of rally stripes but they work great here. I also like the addition of the treaded tires.
  19. I’m surprised no one complained about the big block Chevy yet! Very nice color scheme. What paint processes did you use on the valve covers? They look like a perfect match for Moroso Gold.
  20. This is absolutely fantastic. The weathering is very realistic and I just love the name. My parents had a ‘77 in exactly the same color scheme when I was a little kid so I especially love that!
  21. That’s one heck of a nice for a bunch of leftovers. You made it look like they all belong together. Stance and proportions are right-on and I really like the color.
  22. Oh I get it! “Breaking” news ? Sorry they snapped on you but I have total faith that you’ll get taken care of. Probably a thin under liner (.005 or.010”) wouldn’t be a bad idea.
  23. Absolutely beautiful model, Tim. I don’t know anything about this era of drag racing but you sure do!
  24. Count me as one who had never heard of this kit before. Definitely a funky body but I like it. Looks tuff! Really like the fade paint job you did!
