  1. One doesn't need a caster for you James ! yer already too dang talented !
  2. The "Like " button can be over used . I have a couple who hit , "Like " every time I throw out a photograph , never a comment .
  3. The last re issue of the "Old " 57 was about 2013 . As Chuck said , they won't have the opening trunk or be in the Pro modeler series . I think the last box said something about a 57 Street rod . The chassis will have the metal axles too .
  4. This wouldn't be a 1st . AMT has the air chambers for the Ford COE incorrectly pictured as well ! I used to drive such a kidney busting rig and in truth , one goes front and one goes ahead of the rear axle . It lacks an oil cooler as well on the gas motor , but I can't scan a picture of that from a service manual .....................
  5. Certainly is mighty interesting !
  6. Dave , 1-24th ........................
  7. This was the Fish Inn, a resturant , camp ground , and gasoline station in Core de Adline idaho . it burned down in 1992 . The base measures 3 feet wide by four feet long
  8. Dave , I work in the same scale . Since I built trade show exhibits , now archectural models in historical socieites , everything I do is designed to be dissasembled and re assembled .
  9. You're gong to have to have a hand truck to move that diorama ........................
  10. Anyone notice the 1972 Chevrolet LWB with the camper or the 1958 Chevrolet Apache ? AMT needs to wake up and do a re release of the Apache as a promo at least .................
  11. What scale are you working in ?
  12. Yes Tony , you are partly correct . The term "Jalopies" would be more period ........................
  13. I'm VERY impressed as I used to own a 1951 4dr Mercury
  14. I have a near complete stock Panel delivery . The panel unlike it's PU brother doesn't have the interior fit issues the PU had / has . I'm very impressed by the resemblance to the real deal too . I am a writer for the early Ford Club of America .
  15. Either parts of the model or the model
  16. Erik, I'm not an Arborist . I'll have to bring in a couple I know at the Virginia Historical society ......................
  17. Erik, to give you an idea of the building , allow me to go back to 1953. Pure oil wanted to install a second tank as "Premium gasoline was fast becoming popular after WWII. The one tank was in between the pump island and the front of the building, a mere 10 foot wide space . I'm told it was an 800 gallon affair using old permit documents I searched out . Then too, There wasn't room for any services as the streets , Burton on the Left , "P" on the right prevented anything like that from happening . The building was "Locked in" so to speak . Yes, the place was a private residence between 1953and 1958. From that point, the place became triangle BBQ Take out #1 . About 1967, the Brick addition was added . I used to go there about 3AM for spare ribs and turnip greens as I worked odd shifts . I finally got to meet the family who made it a take out in 2007 and I began the model of it then . E-
  18. George , it's 1-24th scale . As for closer pictures ,uh let me dig around as to exactly what I still have .
  19. This is a model of the former Triangle Filling station that was built in Richmond Virginia. Erected in 1921, this building served as a "prototype " for the idea of a Cottage in the former Pure Oil company's market territory . This building still stands in Richmond and served in it's capacity until 1953 . Yes, this model has been shown here before . This past Christmas , I was invited by the Lewis Ginter Foundation this past summer to exhibit work I had previously done . This was an invitational doll house and miniature show that was run in conjunction with a Christmas light show . Each year , this show generally draws about 75-80,000 people so being a participant was truly an honor .
  20. Any American built car , rear wheel drive that isn't the top of the line . Example a 56 Del Ray sedan
  21. Iceman, the color you chose for the 53 Wagon would be correct . SO TOO IS THE ORANGE ! I am a writer for the Early Ford Club and I own a 53 Ford truck. Now , the green was used more so than the Orange . The "Short shaft" gearbox and the different oil pan are truck items . I know this is of no consequence , but most of the internals in a Ford Long shaft car transmission will work in a truck gear box . By the way , anyone having any transmission parts for a 53-6 gear box , I need them !
  22. I took this year off as movie prop and my being published three different times has had me on a small tour of colleges and medical office facilities sharing on subject completely un related to plastic models . I have several service stations I have wanted to do and the decision to delve deep headlong into another is daunting . What plastic kits I actually do construct must relate to what ever building I actually build . Who knows , I may decide to do a Sonic drive in .......................
