  1. That dubious honor is still the 1960 Bonneville hard Top by Trumpiteer. I bought this kit on a members magazine revue . Yeah, he revued the Convertible with it's "Aftermarket " interior . Needless to say , should I ever meet him, I'm going to demand a FULL explanation of how he could have written such blatant lies in the competing model magazine of it's time . In the words of the music group, the Who , "Won't get fooled again ! "
  2. Originally, this 1953 Plymouth Belvedere wagon was a P M C promotional . They were made alongside a 1957 Ford Wagon which is the body from Jimmy Flintstone . These cars had no interior and came without back in 1957 without chrome parts or clear windshields . They were later sold in 5-.10 stores , ( Roses ,G C Murphy's , WT Grant's and Woolworth's ) as un assembled , usually retailing for about .98c. This is a resin copy of the Plymouth . I got it from a departed member here years back and scratch built the needed pieces .
  3. Folks , the 1964 Black GTO convertible belongs to my boss I write for . He owns part of Still Runnin Magazine . His name is John Dunham . They will also lead a parade at the Sloan Museum June 17th .
  4. Jus goes to show ya , dem Flatheads were built to take it !
  5. Street cruiser , waiting for Saturday night !
  6. I'd like the old Beekins as I used to deliver moving boxes to the agents in Oklahoma and Arkansas. Problem is , most of that stuff was 1-32-1-35th , too small to appreciate now .
  7. I have one I'll eventually scrap out , the Trumiteer 1960 Pontiac Bonneville HT. I opened the box to find a truncated abyss of a body worthy of an Ed Roth cartoon . Yes, mine has the "Dull " , 1st run and 2nd run chrome trees . I closed the box after examining the top of this piece of junk . look, I had a 1- 1 1960 Pontiac in Ft Worth years back . I actually know what a real one drove and looked like . The convertible isn't without fault either . They slammed a cheap Roll and Pleat interior to that so in order to get a legitimate 60, I have to pay twice ............. Uh no .
  8. I'm with Lee on the Bat mobile................
  9. Scott, Scale Model products was indeed a separate company . Aluminum Model Toys had better distribution . That s why you saw similar box art and similar logos . The two companies finally merged in the summer of 1961................
  10. You best be real proud of that masterpiece , well done !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. I got my quote today on one of the Ford Super Duty's by Ming, only 72.00................................ yeah, shocking ain't it .
  12. For me , Mobius is a blessing . You look at a drive in, a service station , a store front and what do you see? it's NOT 32 Ford roadsters , Top line 57 Chevrolet Bel Air coupes . Nope , one sees a wide variety of automobiles . Since I do mostly dioramas , I do builds suited to each one on an individual basis .
  13. I probably have answered this for several here before as I do movie props , museum exhibit work and yes, dioramas . I guess the best way to describe my projects is what I have parts to finish. Generaly speaking , that can mean one diorama , two magazine articles , one movie prop .
  14. I'll stick with ignore : Big Boyz nascar Some work in progress trades Hey, I have my own agendas ....................
  15. The only issues I ever had with this kit was the odd combination of the "Deluxe " Grille that was Chromed , and wrongly at that . Only the "Teeth " were actually chromed at the factory. I own a 53 Ford F-100 and I'm a technical writer for the early Ford Club magazine . In addition, I have been a long time vendor of Early Ford truck parts . Ford did not offer a chrome grill from 1951 until it's re introduction of the 1956 models . The reason was simple , Ford's chrome ore was obtained from the country of Rodesia in Africa . The chrome was diverted to the korean war effort . The lack of the "Boomerang on deluxe models is also bothersome too. The hood emblems on the hood depict the standard models . I know it's too late to correct a 1963 tool , but the aftermarket could have years back !
  16. Charlie , I couldn't have said it better !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Dan, it's like a particle board with two really smooth faces . I's about a 1/4 inch thick and it's used in the exhibit business for signage .
  18. Jus what I need for a Saturday night cruise in !
  19. I'll keep it simple , any car, 1-24th or 1-25th scale not seen in the American Revel catalogue ...........
  20. Same here Tony . My closest Michaels is great for x acto blades and Foam Core , really sorry on model kits !
  21. Greg, back in 1962 , I barely scraped the 2.00 to buy the A M T Double dragster . Word in my neighborhood concerning the revel offering was that parts didn't fit and it was really a hard kit to build . The hobby store that was within my ability to get to got I think two Monogram dragsters and they were spoken for . Now , move to 2014 , I have gotten a re -issue A M T Double dragster kit only cause I got through a discount vendor at a show . The Re issued Revell offerings never were released in my city when they supposedly were re released back in the early 90's . As for the Monogram, now Revellogram, I still haven't seen one and I'm leery of doing on line sales . So , voting is a moot point .
