  1. Years ago Shenandoah Valley models were active in and around Rockingham County and Harrisonburg. Since the fairgrounds quit hosting a swap meet, I seldom hear anything out of them anymore . I remember a nice little store in Stanton that was on Virginia Avenue too near U S 11...............
  2. Please make a note of what Martin fan said !!!!!!!!!! As for that camera, yes, probably it will do a nice job. The more pixels you have, usually a person can expect a camera to do decent close up work. Just remember , you will need a DECENT sized S. D. Card as these cameras do require a lot of memory ! For general hit the show work, I've been using an older Cannon point and shoot camera . it only has 14 pixels and a 4X lens . I use a Kodak C-195 to do still work of finished models . It has 14 pixels , does about 6-8 pictures to a FULL S. D. card and is easy to use here at the office .
  3. Ya need to post this overt the H A M B .............. I bet you can get the Chevy guys mad at ya ...................
  4. Well, I'm mostly scratch built diorama buildings . That means a variety of places . Gee, There is a Doll house supplier well East of me . Meanwhile , there is a N A P A , an Advance Auto , a Kind of near by Michael's .Uh Ace hardware . As for kits ............. uh I do get stuff from some of the members here .
  5. At first, I thought you had mis spelled the car's name . I'm not going to make a judgment on the build as I don't quite see how this may turn out ...................
  6. Hey, the model thus far looks outstanding ! if anyone needs pictures of a 90 model with a 5.0 convertible , let me know . I'm having one come in Monday 6-11-2013 for a heater core , yeah expensive repair .................
  7. Chris , great model. Only see one minor problem. I know a "Trigger happy moderator who will bite ya for putting a truck outside of it's proper place . Uh , you may wish to post this down in the truck section ..............
  8. I'm not surprised . I just hope they have sense enough to re -issue a bunch of kits that were tooled up by dubious companies and that in turn gives us mo drama on the board ! We all know what kits I'm referring to also ......................
  9. Shown here are both the Packard Speedster or Boat Tail and the Cord 812 . Both are Monogram kits . The Cord came out in the middle 1960's . This to me was more difficult than Monograms 1941 Lincoln MK I and less difficult than the Packard . The Packard was simply Cleared over as I was duplicating the car within the Harrah's automobile collection. The Cord was painted to match a former customer's Cord I once had the chance to have worked on back in the late 1980's .
  10. You couldn't get 100 for a Windstar around here. A used engine , 400.00 , yes , that's decent .
  11. Fine job young man, keep up the GOOD work !
  12. Tom, I have pictures of a 1-1 Willys seat . I used the seat out of a 1940 Ford . Measurements are nearly the same . In fact , VERY little was required to make both a Willys truck and the Willys Americoupe .
  13. NOW DEMS IS model cars !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Love it .
  14. Well, I REFUSE to have any dealings with EVIL BAY or it's sleazy cousin KRAK LIST ! I go to shows to buy what I'm looking for as per "New " kits . As for my supplies , shoot , I have a doll house store across town and there is a Michael's sort of close by . Our last remaining Hobby store is selling out . That leaves a Hobby Town and I certainly don't even consider that place credible . I get by ok .
  15. Gosh, it's so nice to see "REAL " models again !!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Then too, they're a restoration possibilities too ..................
  17. Air brushes have their place . So do spray cans . me , I use both in my exhibit work along with a lot of little touch up brushes too. For a fairly large piece and a single color , go with a spray can . If you need "Fine detail and it's a relatively small area , I'd almost suggest an air brush ...........
  18. yes, T ways Graphics company
  19. Wow, looking at these make me feel ancient . I built these when they were brand new kits on the shelf ...............
