Does anyone know if they have engine compartments ? -
Looks to me as though it was one of S C Miller's pieces . Sam Miller passed away about four years ago. he lived outside of Charlottesville Virginia . He probably was one of the original five casters in the business. I have one myself ..............

Tom, you are the most dangerous diorama builder east of the Mississippi !

Eric , was this person in the advertising agency that designed the slogan , "We build excitement " when Pontiac was still a viable company ?

Just above is a garage I did as a "Support " structure for a larger diorama I'm just now completing . It was made with 1/4 inch Foam core with the exception of the roof . That was made from some 1/8th inch Masonite . The ribs are Evergreen .080 X .080 strips . This was then covered with Testors One Coat AMC Silver lacquer . Then, a simple "Black Wash made from some Brown and Black acrylic was added . The sides got covered with wood Shiplap siding and another wash applied .

This was an old MPC annual in it's day. I have one squirreled away I built way long ago. I don't recall having any issues with fit . To me , the kit fell together very well and looked very nice .

I'm with Bob- Gramps on this one ! By all means it's buildable . Shoot, some careful measuring should net a decent model. I wouldn't even try to use parts of a Corvette kit . The dimensions would be so far off, it would never be right . No, get the sheet plastic out , a can of Bondo and have at it !

From what I could see, it looks great. I wish you had shot some more pictures , perhaps with out a lot of back ground too................ -
Great observations Tom. Yes, sad but true , Wal- Worl had several very desirable and interesting die Cast models that were "Limited Runs . I was fortunate in that as soon as I could , I did get the Ford Van and a Dodge Diplomat . For some unknown reason, they sent a slew of Chevrolet vans and I think my close by store got two Fords. I wasn't real crazy about the "Graphics" of either the Ford or the Chevrolet . I wound up disassembling the Ford and painting it in a Factory Mustard Yellow color . OF COURSE , I ADDED one of my snack trays ! I never touched the Chevrolet . I have several of them waiting for me to transform them with examples of products I used to manufacture back in the day ...............

Actually, there a couple of "Minor " changes on the sides of the Ford Flair side . Granted the Fenders , well, the outer fenders date back to 1953. The bed sides changed I think around 1975. That was done so that camper shells would fit better . The obvious changes were the Flat tops on the sides and a widened bed overall. I found that out when I had to buy a tailgate for my 78.......... -
Yes, Mr. Winfield knows I'm one of his most ardent fans . A lady I do freelance writing for passes messages between us . One of these days' I hope to meet with him. Did you know he's completely "Self Taught " ?

Normally, I have a rule about posting my diorama stuff here anymore . I'll break it this time . I placed SECOND , not once but twice by the same Skeleton / automobile - fantasy graveyard , not once but twice . The winning diorama was shown in the most recent Model cars magazine Contest Issue . Heck, as to what I could have done to make it better, truth be told , I dunno.......
