1950 oldsmobile difference in kits
henry57 replied to youpey's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I don't know the difference in them, but I bought the 1st one to build a mild custom and was extremly disapointed that it didn't have the stock valve covers in it. -

Let's See Some Glue Bombs!
henry57 replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks. It took a lot of work to get the old paint off, I think it was Lacquer, and the windows had a lot of glue on them, but it should turn out pretty nice. -

Is the 1957 Chevy the most kitted ?
henry57 replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Some of them are close, but nearly every one of them have something that's just way off from the real cars. The first AMT the trim on the side of the car is way to high on the body. The monogram looks a cartoon version of the car. The first Revell is just a mess, not sure they even used a tape measure to make that one. The later Revell sedans are the most accurate. The Revell convertible is pretty good but the tops of the doors aren't right. -

I've heard Canada doesn't title cars, what all do you have to do to register it? -

1950 Chevrolet 3100 pick up
henry57 replied to Ballroad's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Wow, great build. love the turn signals, my 1:1 3100 truck had the same ones on it when I got it. -
any left?
-
Yeah, but wheel well openings are 56 modified to look like 55's. Looks like they grafted part of the rear 55 quarters, added the 55 bumpers, and dog house to a 56.
-
Huh, that burn car actually looks like a 56.

I used to own a car that was nearly identical to the kit, it had a tunnel ram, tilt front end, ladder bars, and black diamond tuck interior. You can see what the real trim is supposed to look like.

Bare metal foil vs 2K clearcoat
henry57 replied to matador88's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I usually thin 2k clears when spraying models. It does not dull or affect BMF in any way that I've seen. -
