  1. Not to denigrate others views but I don't like a single aspect of that....thing. Every automotive cliche' is present. Fins on top of fins. Sharp, blocky body topped by a smooth arching roof. Side spears on a short(ish) body. Overly complicated front and rear styling. Plus the fact that they sacrificed a BMW. Reminds me of the unlamented Excaliburs of the 70s.
  2. Its got Peta Wilson in it. No more need be said.
  3. Don't know much about merchandising but just how far would "notorious" add to desirability? OTOH, a new F150 or Silverado in the current body styles....
  4. I don't think I've seen a stock Chevy Fleetline in 20 years. They are extremely popular in the Old School Low Rider scene.
  5. Others will chime in but the first I believe is a 1950-51 Studebaker Champion. The canister in the rear window is (more or less) an early version of an air conditioner. The curb feeler on the front bumper is a nice touch. My grandparents always had them in the early 60s.
  6. Purely as a load bearing question in the 1 to 1 world your single wheel/single axle would be in excess of the allowable load bearing capacity. I've seen commercial trailers with single wheel axles but they were limited to high bulk/low weight loads. The most common configuration I've seen your set up utilize is on travel trailers/boat trailers, neither are carrying particularly heavy loads. But I'm just thinking of reality.
  7. I like a lot of the ideas but not the front end/hood arrangement. The power bulge makes the front look heavy compared to the sleekness of the rear half and the sharpness of the headlight treatment is jarring alongside the overdone hood. Lower the power bulge to make it less prominent and french the headlamps. But when I win the lottery, the idea of a modern iteration of the classic T-Bird makes me smile.
  8. Has Revell released an informational poster showing ALL its projected releases, not just autos? Just curious for other areas of interest. (heresy, I know)
  9. As a Mustang owner (I've had 3 pass through, including the one I've got now) I'm just a "meh". Its not a Mustang, its clown clothes on a GT-R. Of course, I'm probably the only one in America (and Canada, Happy Canada Day!) who really is underwhelmed by "Eleanor". Overdone and overblown, the both of them. Now, get off of my lawn.
  10. That Mustang looks like something the Decepticons would be driving.
  11. Yes on the notchback both 65-66 and 67-68.
  12. Took a drive toward the Sonoma (County) coast area north of SF yesterday. The rich guys auto club got there ahead of me. Saw a Ferrari California Berlinetta, immediately followed by a Mclaren 570. Within a minute a Ferrari 360 then a 308 (or variation). Lastly a nicely used but not abused Dino 246. All the others impressed me but the Dino warmed my heart. Naturally except for the Mclaren (orange) all the others were Resale Red.
  13. Oh, I've no doubt that it represents what it is. Its just that the legend and accomplishments were made by the 289 in its various body configurations and THAT'S what I'd like to be able to model. Besides, what 50+ year old molding isn't prime for a re-do?
  14. Honestly I knew I was kidding and I thought you were too. Please don't let it bother you. Sarcasm is what I revert to when wit fails me. Completely off topic: are you related to Larry Milberry who authored a fantastic book on Canadair Sabres a few years back?
  15. Now if they would just massage the Cobra body a bit (USRRC/FIA) or better yet spring for a new mold. The original/current is of 1963 vintage. Even the engine is a Ford 260 rather than a proper 289.
  16. Well, I didn't mention a Confederate flag sticker in the back window. Thought of it but didn't mention it.
  17. Will it include a driver with a mullet and no t-shirt, 8-track with "Freebird" cassette, chewing tobacco decal for the rear bumper, and a color mis-matched door?
  18. This resin body; is it the All American Models one? If so, I've got an example. I think it was an afterthought purchase at NNL West a couple of years ago. Based on the discussion, I think I'll camouflage the Revell kit in my CHP colors and build the AAM bone stock. I did note the AAM seems slightly longer than the Revell. Would it be 1/24 scale?
  19. I think you've got it. It always did look OK to me, its just that I vaguely recall someone mentioned trimming the opening for appearance sake. Far better than cutting the top off and re-proportioning the entire thing, which I recall some claimed was the only solution. Maybe I should have just asked for hints on assembly. I've still got to source a little better radio head and gun rack. Probably scratch those.
  20. Ellen uhh, the pic is my 1 to 1 Mustang that is sitting about 25 feet from me. Now I drove the one replicated in the kit on a "professional basis". That's the one I'm talking about. As an aside: the blue one is MUCH more comfortable, faster (scary faster but generations better handling), and has better seats along with satellite radio, AM/FM and voice activated systems. The black and white one had a radio but only one channel at a time and the entertainment value was limited. On the upside I could speak into it and talk to other people. Sirius/XM really doesn't allow for two way conversations.
  21. It took me this long to finally get one, no reason just that it took this long. I recall some pages and pages of back and forth about the roof proportions. I'm not that particular but I recall shaving a little of the window opening seemed to solve or tone down the appearance issues. Are there any hints/tips I should be aware of. It (or at least the first one) is going to be a CHP car.
  22. I've always subscribed to the theory that since each GTO body was fundamentally hand formed (restorers have found substantial differences between right and left sides of the same car) each kit can stand on its own. Well, except for the Aurora/Monogram conglomeration . Build what you have, the way you want and let others prove it wrong. Then ignore them.
  23. I don't disagree but I'm of the opinion that its a test shot. Better to wait for the real kit and then see where the discussion goes.
  24. Makes as much sense as any other theory.
