  1. I admit a preference to old school design But I'll have a weakness for Champion Porsche
  2. This is owned by a 78 year old guy I used to work with. He just got it out of the shop. You can almost see it but the bed is equipped with a custom made wooden truck box and the bed is wood lined. Hard to tell but its actually a deep metallic purple with blue and pink pinstripes. You might note a familiar car in the background. (look at the bottom of the page)
  3. Always wore an open collared polyester shirt with a vaguely suggestive gold pendant on a chain. Called it his "Italian Good Luck Charm". Did one experience the '70s or just survive them?
  4. The top one reminds me of this classic show.
  5. I picked up a Danbury Mint 1966 Mustang convertible (complete but without box or certificate-meh) for $2 at a yard sale yesterday. The wind wing was easily reset with white glue. I've got to cut a piece of plastic to replace the "glass" (thinking a piece of plastic packaging) and found that the windshield frame was broken at the bottom left corner. What kind of (clear) glue should I use to fix these things and where to get it?
  6. Yeah, yeah. But could you leave it parked in front of a KMart and not get all bent with worry? Could ya? I'll let you know.
  7. *cough* Chevy Vega *cough* I miss the "character" of the 60's/early 70's cars. Every year's styling was distinct and different. But what I miss in character I don't miss in tuneups, crappy tires, crappy brakes, gas mileage. I wanted a Grabber Blue Mustang since I saw my first one, 1970 Boss 302. I finally have a Grabber Blue Mustang. Infinitely safer, more comfortable, just as stylish. Had I had that 1970 Mustang I would have had 335hp (supposedly) and got 8-10 mpg if I feathered the gas. Now I have 420hp and without trying or thought I get just under 23 mpg. I've seen 29 mpg on a trip from Reno to Bend, OR. 300+ miles, two lane hwy the whole route, kept it below 65mph. I miss character but that's all.
  8. I've been told the Sunny Cobra kit is neither fish nor fowl. It has aspects of the 289 and 427 Cobras all in one package. Oh, and the Fujimi Cobra kit is not a true Cobra. It was referenced off of a kit car, and has a massively oversized windshield frame.
  9. About 4 years ago Academy promised a Daytona Coupe, even had it illustrated in the future release file and then "poof", gone like vapor. A modern 289 in the street, USRRC, and FIA bodies would be like printing money. A 427 with bulged rear fenders as most all the race versions had should be pretty easy. I have to believe that licensing was/is the bugaboo. Carroll Shelby never met a dollar that he didn't want a piece of and it seems the company continues that tradition.
  10. Back in a previous life I took a traffic collision report wherein a tourist from Germany and a tourist from Singapore hit each other head-on on US 101 in Northern Calif. Both cars were late model Dodge Intrepids and both were rented from Hertz. Nobody got hurt worth mentioning except Hertz.
  11. Hmmm, no Ford GT racing version. Also no 1/32 P-51D (hey, don't be haters). Still, hope springs eternal.
  12. Can someone point me to a replacement hood for the Revell kit? In a fit of weakness I bought the version with the rectangular hole in the middle of it and I'd like to get a stock hood or even one with hood scoops.
  13. My son got me an Amazon Firestick for Christmas and one of the first movies I watched was "The 24 Hour War". If you're an enthusiast its worth your while but, at the end, it is a documentary-with a bit of a Ford slant I thought. I wish them well but auto racing movies have such a checkered history.
  14. Which one? I'm aware of two (2001 and 2008/2009). Three, if you count the original. Plus I believe they are planning to pump one out as we speak.
  15. Isn't the 6th illustration, the one next to the model pictured, a reference to it being printed in white? http://public.fotki.com/mofobow/ford/mustang/7677_cobra_ii/
  16. And Keith Marks has the graphics http://public.fotki.com/mofobow/ford/mustang/7677_cobra_ii/
  17. And no cup holders, $70 million and no cup holders. Jeez, some people have more money than sense.
  18. Any of the Italeri classic Ferrari kits. We've seen the 250 GTO several times. How about the 250 GT SWB, 250GT SWB California, 275 GTB, 365 GTB Daytona and Daytona Racing, 275 NART
  19. I like the side view but the front end looks......busy.
  20. Thanks, and BTW I never did stop driving.
  21. Did you take that photo about 10 years ago? Saw that price "per gallon" for a "New York Minute" back in 2008. Darn near made me want to stop driving.
  22. Preach it, Brother. I'd also add a 67/68 Notchback Mustang, if for nothing else but Trans Am racers. For as much as I love the Fastback, Notchback Mustangs of those years far outsold the Fastback.
  23. Am I the only one who thought you were talking about certain evening news commentator?
  24. Are we brothers from another mother? I'd only add a "fat hipped" 427 like this:
