  1. Monogram Dale Jarrett Mac Tools Thunderbird I won as a door prize at NLL West a couple of years ago. Under card race series, unknown race results, driver I only paid attention in passing. At best I'll part it out. Not sure even of that.
  2. Oregon plates-probably suffering from sunstroke.
  3. Inspired by this? https://www.carthrottle.com/post/the-300sl-powered-blue-wonder/ (Ooops, nevermind. Someone else with a quirky knowledge of old transporters beat me to it.)
  4. I'm really going to keep an eye on Atlantis. They seem to know their market. This flyer (warning: not car related) has every appearance of the classic John Steel boxtops from the classic Revell era. https://www.atlantis-models.com/pressreleases/H369USSIowa.pdf
  5. Ah, dag nabbit.
  6. Is it impolite to mention that a model of any current pickup is missing. There's a Raptor snap kit and after that you have to go to the 1999 (?) Silverado, the Meng F350 and the 1997 F150. And what's the most recent Ram Pickup, the 1995 (or so) Revell show truck w/Viper engine? Pickups are the largest selling vehicles in the US but are unrepresented. And let's not talk about Explorers, Tahoes, etc.
  7. There is one resin option for a stock hood by Missing Link. (No connection to seller) https://www.ebay.com/itm/Resin-25-scale-1968-70-Pontiac-GTO-hood-w-underside-detail-from-Missing-Link/352474531990?hash=item52111e8896:g:YWUAAOSwTmJatSJP I purchased one and standing alone it looks good. My kit is buried in the stash so I haven't test fitted it.
  8. FYI: there are two Porsche 904 kits that have been released under the Revell/Monogram nameplate in 1/24 and 1/25 scale. The 1/24 kit which is basically a slot car body/curbside. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/176383-monogram-pc127-porsche-904 The 1/25th kit which (I believe) originally was the old Aurora kit and has the engine/interior etc. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/176395-monogram-2954-porsche-904 I've got both but, naturally, I haven't built either.
  9. No cup holders! This deal if OFF!
  10. +1 on the Petersen. I went there in January and they had a magnificent display of low riders next to a gallery of vintage Bugattis, while at the same time there was about $100 million in Ferrari race cars on the other side of the 2nd floor from very famous movie cars. And to top it all, a 1 to 1 Lightning McQueen. AND about 75 feet away was Steve McQueen's Jaguar XK-SS. I believe there will be a display of Porsche racing cars when you're in "The Southland".
  11. Breadvan! http://mycarquest.com/2016/04/ferrari-250-breadvan-joke-went-far.html
  12. Operating on the theory that you can't have too much info: https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/AM14/Amelia-Island/lots/r103-1965-shelby-mustang-gt350-r/181814
  13. FYI: the decal stripes in that kit are an dull blue/grey and not even close to the Guardsman Blue original color. They might be an aid in paint masking though. Your muse was used to win the 1965 SCCA B Production title, not always with the #3. Try Googling GT350 5R213 for more photos.
  14. There is a need for an aftermarket decal set and I've heard of at least one but it appears to be "vaporware". Nonetheless, there is this alternative with an actual racing history. http://www.v-r-m.com/vrm-003---mustang-gt350r.html and a few pictures from the race: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/44191640076742499/?lp=true
  15. I admit a preference to old school design But I'll have a weakness for Champion Porsche
  16. This is owned by a 78 year old guy I used to work with. He just got it out of the shop. You can almost see it but the bed is equipped with a custom made wooden truck box and the bed is wood lined. Hard to tell but its actually a deep metallic purple with blue and pink pinstripes. You might note a familiar car in the background. (look at the bottom of the page)
  17. Always wore an open collared polyester shirt with a vaguely suggestive gold pendant on a chain. Called it his "Italian Good Luck Charm". Did one experience the '70s or just survive them?
  18. The top one reminds me of this classic show.
  19. I picked up a Danbury Mint 1966 Mustang convertible (complete but without box or certificate-meh) for $2 at a yard sale yesterday. The wind wing was easily reset with white glue. I've got to cut a piece of plastic to replace the "glass" (thinking a piece of plastic packaging) and found that the windshield frame was broken at the bottom left corner. What kind of (clear) glue should I use to fix these things and where to get it?
  20. Yeah, yeah. But could you leave it parked in front of a KMart and not get all bent with worry? Could ya? I'll let you know.
  21. *cough* Chevy Vega *cough* I miss the "character" of the 60's/early 70's cars. Every year's styling was distinct and different. But what I miss in character I don't miss in tuneups, crappy tires, crappy brakes, gas mileage. I wanted a Grabber Blue Mustang since I saw my first one, 1970 Boss 302. I finally have a Grabber Blue Mustang. Infinitely safer, more comfortable, just as stylish. Had I had that 1970 Mustang I would have had 335hp (supposedly) and got 8-10 mpg if I feathered the gas. Now I have 420hp and without trying or thought I get just under 23 mpg. I've seen 29 mpg on a trip from Reno to Bend, OR. 300+ miles, two lane hwy the whole route, kept it below 65mph. I miss character but that's all.
  22. I've been told the Sunny Cobra kit is neither fish nor fowl. It has aspects of the 289 and 427 Cobras all in one package. Oh, and the Fujimi Cobra kit is not a true Cobra. It was referenced off of a kit car, and has a massively oversized windshield frame.
  23. About 4 years ago Academy promised a Daytona Coupe, even had it illustrated in the future release file and then "poof", gone like vapor. A modern 289 in the street, USRRC, and FIA bodies would be like printing money. A 427 with bulged rear fenders as most all the race versions had should be pretty easy. I have to believe that licensing was/is the bugaboo. Carroll Shelby never met a dollar that he didn't want a piece of and it seems the company continues that tradition.
  24. Back in a previous life I took a traffic collision report wherein a tourist from Germany and a tourist from Singapore hit each other head-on on US 101 in Northern Calif. Both cars were late model Dodge Intrepids and both were rented from Hertz. Nobody got hurt worth mentioning except Hertz.
  25. Hmmm, no Ford GT racing version. Also no 1/32 P-51D (hey, don't be haters). Still, hope springs eternal.
