  1. The only thing that makes me worry is the argument that some people voiced with the body mistake with the Chevrolet 150 that it could be something as simple as someone put the wrong body side molds in the tooling. If they can make a Bel-Air out of a 150 by putting a different piece in the tool it won't be hard to take a standard Charger body and make it an R/T.
  2. Along the same lines of thinking. Why did they bring out the Charger? They already have several releases of a Charger that looks almost identical. Give you an idea of why? Just because it's close doesn't mean it's anywhere near the same. I'm looking forward to REAL Foose cars.
  3. Yaaaa!!! unless you're one of the get rich quick sellers who thought they saw a get rich quick deal on Ebay. Now they've ran up a bunch of seller fees and still have the kits in hand, well I guess that having the kits is sort of a good thing unless they bought several cases at list price thinking they were going to have plenty of time to sell them off. Now we can all be happy. Someone paid the ransom ??!!
  4. I'm happy they delayed it and got it right. I'd hate for it to be on time but be like that '90 Mustang kit. I wouldn't like another twenty pages of rants about the mistakes......even though it might be cool to have a chopped top version to play around with.?
  5. Personally I'm hoping that the door R/T covers are separate parts so I I can build a fairly close to standard Charger, it'd really be nice if if we could get the base 383 and plain grille as optional pieces.
  6. That would be true for someone starting from scratch. But don't most of us old timers have multiples of these kits in our stash anyway? ?
  7. I didn't say every tool in China. From the rumors I heard the company that did the molding of the A kits wasn't the usual company and for some reason those molds were going to be moved to another molding company but the company with the molds in their possession wouldn't let loose of them claiming ownership and Revell was only leasing them. Sounds almost like the Mint disaster, except that company claimed they were owed monies for the work they did and after not getting satisfaction from the owner decided to just keep the molds for what was owed to them. I don't know if there is a slight bit of ANY of this being true, like I said,RUMOR. You need to remember the old adage, if you haven't heard a good rumor by 11 a.m., start one of your own. ???
  8. So,,,, you think the rumors about the tools being seized by a disgruntled molding company over a lost contract are just that? A groundless rumor? We've seen it happen to a U.S. die cast company, only they had every tool they owned seized, but then the guy that downs that company IS a little on the fishy side.
  9. Thanks, appreciate it.
  10. It sure is, but where's the picturs of his cat? lol??
  11. That would just break my widdle heart. ?
  12. When I clicked on Hendrix resins on the directory it gives me an excellent page with the bodies they offer, but no information on ordering, or prices for anything, and a index if they offer more than what's on that page. Thanks for the help I know will be coming. Del
  13. I saw a testing version of a Camaro in that day-glo green (a quote of the factory press release) it was an experiment in producing the four cylinder version with a turbocharged engine putting out 275 horsepower, and with a tuned suspension set up so it would make a better autocross package. They said there weren't any definite plans for it to make production BUT that all the parts ARE available from Mr. Goodwrench should some enterprising dealer feel the urge to put one together. I guess I'm strange but it sounds like something I'd buy.
  14. the two I was watching closed under $40, one in the middle of the week closed for its opening bid of $30, the other one had a starting bid of $29.95 but finished for $34.81. But there are still some out there on retail shelves and I haven't heard of retailers jacking the prices up......yet. But there will probably be someone somewhere who will not care for their regular customers but feel the pressure for that extra bonus. The smart ones set a case or two back and if the stories about the Chinese seizing the molds are true and these great kits will NOT be seen again (at least as coming from an American company) in just a couple of years they should demand prices that will resemble jewelry instead of plastic models.
  15. the one closed for the $30 bid and the $29.95 one hasn't changed with just a few hours left on the clock so I don't think people are quite ready to get taken to the cleaners by those ready to exploit a bad deal. until Revell says definitely that these won't be returning ever to the line up that people will be willing to pay outlandish collector type prices for them.
  16. Wow! Not even intelligent enough to use spell check. And he definitely needs to. Wouldn't saying he bought an original made by someone else and "improved" on it be proof that he copied it?
  17. I must have been watching from a screen with better resolution, I definitely saw sidewall detail in the close-up I was looking at.
  18. I was looking at the ones in the"Grumpy" Bill Jenkins Nova kit and they look to be around the right width, if you want to you could use a razor saw to add a couple of radial grooves to each tire for a proper "cheater" slick look.
  19. that should be just about right, I had an uncle that built a '36 International pickup in the late '60s and it had a 289 Studebaker with an auto for power the sad thing is in the late '70s he sold it still running and basically rust free for $75 and the guy drove iit away.
  20. You don't think you could get away with what the R/C guys are doing with their molded bodies? You can get a C type, or a T type, or F type, you can clearly see the style of car it's meant to be but I haven't heard of any copyright lawsuits yet so they must be doing something right. ?
  21. Could have been either a 406, or a 390 both look identical from the exterior.
  22. I am kinda leaning to something that's not on the average hot rodders list (if they're under sixty years old anyway) the other engine I really like is the Olds out of the Orange crate kit, but with the tri-power stuff from the '50 Olds custom kit, or actually just the dress up parts and headers on the '50's engine, I don't like the idea of a blower on a vintage type street rod or the Olds from the original Stone Woods &Cook kit would be almost perfect, but again the headers aren't really in the mode I'm thinking of, there's also the Revell Cadillac parts pack motor, that just MIGHT be what I'm looking for, and it wouldn't be a Chevy in a Ford, but it ain't a Ford either. And it REALLY wouldn't be another "belly button" street rod.
  23. I'm just hoping that they get enough in production for a replacement engine block. You'd think I would have learned by now that if I drop anything on the floor to go after it instantly, before my playful plastic chomping dachshund gets it. That little four legged trash compactor can crush a twelve ounce coke bottle in less than two minutes, and destroy a nice Chevrolet small block half in the time it takes to run around a queen size bed and jump on it. If they don't get any in soon I guess I can put a 427 parts pack engine in, or rob a block from something else and transplant the intake and accessories to it, I even looked at a 409, with the cross ram and it looks inviting, and the headers can be used with just a tiny bit of work. A lot easier than putting the Chrysler from the deuce coupe into it.
  24. Well even though I have a few in the stash I'll probably get a couple of the '57 Ford's if for nothing else some extra parts for Revell gasser builds, and even though it is almost identical to the last red snap release I gotta have a Camaro or three, I think that the chin spoiler and new decals are worth looking at anyway.
  25. I'd personally love to see the engine and associated parts offered as a stand alone super detail kit, that would still make a good engine for building an asphalt late model or add to one of the R/M kits for better detailing.
