  1. Never underestimate the power of boomer nostalgia.
  2. It’s not on the spreadsheet because the spreadsheet is just the upcoming Chinese production schedule and it was already produced. There’s like 6 or 8 new items already in country just waiting for them to get up and running which should be soon. Like a matter of days soon. Basically the factories kept producing the stuff they were scheduled to produce just there was no way for old Revell to legally sell them under the terms of the bankruptcy sale.
  3. Maybe when all the boomers die off who knows? But Tom Daniel stuff still sells well. We’ve got more preorders in for this than for any of the other “new” kits from them.
  4. Rommel’s Rod was already on the water when old company closed. They’re just waiting for the new company to get up and running and they’ll be ready to ship probably in the next couple of weeks.
  5. Revell had a contest where they asked fans to vote on what Chip Foose vehicles they wanted to see made as models and they would make the winners. The Eldorod and the FD-100 pickup won, so Revell made them. They both have sold great, he Eldorod is our #3 best-selling car/pickup behind only the Bronco and 83 Olds and the FD-100 would be a lot higher if we didn't run out of them so early in Revell's troubles. I think they made the right call with these, I don't think bone-stock versions would have done anywhere nearly as well (the pickup, maybe, but definitely not the Caddy)
  6. *puts on tinfoil hat* That's just what they want you to believe!
  7. Yes, kit number will be #1119 but I don't have any info on it outside of that.
  8. It's still down and Bing results don't return anything and Google only returns Round2Corp and it also doesn't work. I think it's gone for good. It was really just a B2B site anyway, it was never that up to date, they keep AutoWorldStore up to date since it's an e-commerce site where folks can actually buy things.
  9. In the case of any snap kits it's because they're switching them all over to the skinny Build-n-Play style box from the normal type box, I guess to better differentiate them from glue kits.
  10. These are all Chinese kits, this is the Chinese production schedule. i just posted about it here because it was the most recent Revell news thread
  11. Most of that list are existing kits, this is just the production schedule of what they're going to be molding first now that production is back up and running. .
  12. Some of the "new" items aren't new, just stock number changes, and those are just the ones in red.
  13. No, it wasn't on the list but I think that's going to be RoG first, this was all US stuff. I don't think RoG has any distribution outside of continental Europe set up yet.
  14. Just got word today that the first shipments of the "new" US Revell are expected to begin in late September. The Grease 48 Ford should be the first up of the last batch of announced new kits, with restocks of the Broncos and Foose FD-100 pickup in early October and looks like the 69 Boss 302 will be out in November. Note this is all stuff molded in China, so unrelated to the original posting in this thread.
  15. Heads up these are hitting shelves now.
  16. Yeah, it was. It was an MPC kit first. The full-size one was just built at Barris' shop.
  17. The Hard Hat Hauler. It had Kennedy, Reagan (then Governor of California) Spiro Agnew (then Vice-President) and Edmund Muskie (a Senator from Maine who ran for VP in 68). Meant to tie into the rising "hard-hats" political movement of the early 70's (basically the anti-hippies). http://www.barris.com/carsgallery/noveltyproduct/hardhathauler.php
  18. Well, it's not a real car anyway*, so paint it whatever light blue you want. Several companies (MCW, Scalefinishes, Zero Paints, etc...) make the old 60's Gulf colors but the old blue was pretty pale compared to what's shown on the box. *there are some blue & orange tributes but they're not really Gulf-sponsored or licensed.
  19. I used to occasionally fall asleep listening to Phillies games on the radio and when I'd wake up this dude would be on. I never could tell if it was real, or just some kind of X-Files-on-the-radio/War of the Worlds-type performance art.
  20. Well, of the $3.9 million purchase, $3 million was just for the stock-on-hand kits already in Illinois. The molds were only $50,000.
  21. There's AAA Hobbies in Magnolia, South Jersey. Ok, maybe I'm a bit biased since I work there part time but they're the retail arm of Stevens International so they have access to everything they carry and that's pretty much all current model car companies. No old stuff, though.
  22. It looks pretty neutral to me, both the can lid and the bottle version (XF-77). AS-4 Grey Violet might be a better candidate, it's one of the Luftwaffe grays Snake mentioned (I get my 74 & 75 mixed up)
  23. Yep, Revell Germany since wasn't part of the bankruptcy filing they've been able to continue throughout with close to normal day-to-day operations. I expect we'll hear something fairly soon re: US Revell as I'm sure the new owners will want to get the cashflow moving as soon as possible. But so far, nothing.
  24. We're taking pre-orders for this now, expecting to ship late April/early May. https://www.megahobby.com/products/preorder-1977-oldsmobile-442-buddy-bakers-napa-gray-ghost-1-25-salvinos-jr.html
  25. The Fall, on Netflix. A London Met Police Detective (Gillian Anderson) gets called in to lead the hunt for a serial killer (Jaime Dornan) in Northern Ireland. You know he's the killer from the start and see things from his view, how he hides behind a family man persona. Great show. Super dark. I think it's her best ever role.
