  1. I have heard nothing to indicate if the tooling exists for any of the revivals.
  2. Just love it! Almost seems a shame to paint it! This thread will become a reference page for some projects of my own- many thanks for sharing!
  3. NICE weathering! That car has seen USE!
  4. Great job, especially eliminating the seam on the two piece body!
  5. The bike in the background is a second stock Maisto knucklehead for contrast. The engine is a 1950 flathead and transmission from the 1950 Pickup with some additional hotrod parts for extra gow power.
  6. Gotta have a cool hauler for your Harley Davidson knucklehead bobber T.R.O.G. race bike!
  7. Ace, thanks for sharing your depth of knowledge of real cars and parts, and your photos of them are an invaluable resource!
  8. Thanks, Dan! The truck got photographed at the Buckeye meet.
  9. Got the truck and the bike done! Pix! Might try running cables for brakes and throttle on the bike, but that will need a little more ambition! An unaltered Maisto knucklehead in the background for contrast.
  10. Thank you everyone for your encouragement and support! In case you haven't seen my boat completed, here is a pic (doesn't help back pages aren't accessible).
  11. Thanks, Al! This is the first motorcycle model I have ever worked on, so lots of new territory!
  12. Got the truck on the frame and additional detailing done- windshield is posed as though cranked out- only need to add the water hoses and its done. The bobber has had weathering done to the engine and wheels and the grooves in the gas tank where the shifter was mounted have been filled, then painted. Working on the shift gate- very fiddly, and the first attempt broke, so will try again with thicker stock. Here are some pix, Harley behind the truck is for reconstruction reference, with more coming as I get more done!
  13. Tim, it is indeed a Maisto- only the engine, tank, and fenders are die cast- everything else is plastic- sort of a cross between styrene and vinyl- wheels and front tire from the Cherry Bomb, rear tire from the 37 Ford panel truck, new handle bars are jumbo paper clip wire with rubber tubing for the grips- hoping to slip in bent wire for the brake and throttle levers, and thin wire for the cables. the worst part of the Maisto bike is that the air cleaner was molded all the way into the jugs and what would have been the carb.
  14. I glued two rims together for the interior rims and ground the protruding rim off. Then I used the kit rims for the external and internal portions.
  15. Here's a pic of the HD knucklehead bobber which is part of the project- inspired by bikes at the T.R.O.G. Dechromed wheels and front tire from cherry bomb, fishtails from Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland.
  16. This is a reissue of the AMT kit.
  17. The bike is a Maisto HD knucklehead I disassembled. It will be rebuilt as a weathered bobber.
