  1. Good point Greg, but to put it more appropriately, their comments were made in bad taste.
  2. Harry, you and Lee weren't even born when this model came out. The 50's were an age of innocence. Something that neither of you experienced. A picture such as this would never be interpreted as some on this thread have. I personally believe it was to express the elegance of the Cadillac. To perceive it as anything else, in my opinion, has only to exemplify the degradation of society in the years that followed. Your opinion makes you a member.
  3. You, are a sick puppy. Obviously not a child of the 50's.
  4. Congrats. I purchased much of my stash this was in the early 2000's when the prices were even cheaper. Shop wisely and you can make out quite well.
  5. Why oh why would you want to buy a scanner when all that is necessary is a digital camera? http://www.strata.com/products/strata_3d_cx_suite/strata_foto_3d_cx/ /
  6. I'm saying real- pretty.
  7. I run my desktop from a 32 gig Sandisk flashdrive. I have one more 32 gig flashdrive with data plus two 16 gig and one 8 gig for data. Works great for me plus I can unplug the flash drive and boot on any other computer anywhere if need be.
  8. It's a REAL beauty!
  9. As far as I'm concerned, it's definitely embossing powder. I use the white any paint it any color I chose to suite the interior match.
  10. This guy is totally unreal. About a year ago, I was looking for a set of 1929 Model A stock wheels and tires. I checked ebay and sure enough, there they were by this guy p j. $15.00 + shipping. Whoa, lets see what a whole kite cost. $12.00 tax tags & title delivered to my front door. Needless to say, I spent the $12.00 and now have the stock wheels, another v8 engine I needed for another project, plus a 2nd 1929 roadster that I can build as a rod( I build mostly stock) and I can use a parts box v8 as a replacement engine.

  12. I'm votin real on this one.
  13. O.K. So where is the I don't care choice. If I like the subject and want to build a model of it, scale is not a problem.
  14. It's very simple Chuck. Without a heat bed, abs will warp, deform and probably not stick stick to the print platform and be a useless glob of plastic. Pla, as a fore mentioned, is not desirable as it is very brittle and not long lasting. I am in the last stages of building my reprap mendal prusa i2 and when it is completely finished and calibrated, I with salvage the parts for an i3. By the way, my total investment in the i2 is a hair over $500. I think the reprap weki explains the invest into a 3d printer best. There are three ways to get a 3d printer. Purchase a built one. buy a kit and build one or build one from scratch. The differences breakdown thus. If you buy a built one, it is immediately ready for use, but it is probably obsolete and when it breaks, and it will, you have no idea of how to fix it. Purchase a kit and build it. It takes time and the kit is probably obsolete to the latest version. When it breaks, you may have some idea on how to fix it. The 3rd option, build it from scratch, is the most beneficial. You gain a complete understanding of what it is and how it works. If you do your homework right, you will know the difference between the electronics and which one to use. You will be able to upgrade to the latest version without having to buy a new machine. When it breaks, you should be able to fix it yourself. Just in case you aren't aware, most of the 3d printers of this category originate from the opensource community and not from the corporate world.
  15. You mean like these? I took these pictures at Turkey Rod Run on the Friday after Thanksgiving at the Daytona Speedway.
  16. How to glue styrene to abs: http://www.therpf.com/f9/can-styrene-abs-glued-melded-together-63326/
  17. Real. Did I say real? Yeah, I think it's real.
  18. A picture says a thousand words.
