  1. Looks amazing. Very clean build
  2. Like other have stated, I just picked one up at Hobby Lobby this past weekend for my father's 65th birthday.
  3. 1981 Hardees Buick pretty much done except final touch up, window net and clean up. Cut the exhaust dumps and replaced with aluminum tube for a better appearance. I just noticed the padding on the top bar has slid to the passenger side, need to fix that and glue it.
  4. First attempt at using heat shrink for tall bar padding. Not to bad but tough to cut.
  5. Been working on the chassis for the 81 Hardees Buick. Been a while since I had built one of these. Been looking for some reference pictures and building. Had a tight squeeze getting the engine in with the headers installed since I had the firewall and roll cage glued together prior to paint. I know the kit headers are wrong but just feels good to get something accomplished.
  6. With the Daytona 500 upon us and my 69 Hurst Olds fighting me, I thought I'd get these out and work on them a little. Had painted and decaled a couple years ago but never gotten around to finishing them. Chassis's are painted and then cleared with Tamiya Semi Gloss Clear. Looks better than Gloss or Flat to me on the chassis. Tired have been delettered and decaled and shot with Flat clear. Looks great but they seem to want to stick to everything. Don't even remember what Flat Clear I used
  7. I did cut the front glass from the rear so that I didn't have the "runnners" running front to back. Thanks for the comments. Not to bad for a Mopar Man I guess
  8. Got the hood decal the best I could using MicroSol and MicroSet. Still have a few wrinkles but not to bad.
  9. Wow that looks great. Never seen that one before. Thanks for sharing
  10. Now in Under Glass Section
  11. Couple other shots
  12. Finally got this completed. Scale Finishes Calypso Coral Enamel. No clear. White and Black interior. Basically box stock.
  13. Engine completed.
  14. No I have never been to the meetings. Have thought about it. Engine is about done. Other than some engine work and final clean up it's all but done
  15. Were the wheels Gold or Gray Metal color? I have been seeing them both ways and I am not sure which way the originally came.
  16. I love these old Johan kits. Wish someone would retool or find the original molds and bring them back. Olds looks great.
  17. I thought I would take advantage of the little warmer weather here in Maryland this week since I've been working what seems like non-stop and try and get my 64 Impala painted. Primed with Tamiya Gray Primer and then a couple coats of Tamiya Maroon. Did go as well as I had hoped. Paint ran off high spots and panel seams. Guess I'll have to wait the cooler weather out and scuff and repaint. I like the color though. I started a 50 Oldsmobile with this color but after the first coat it looked like it was going to be purple looking but i was determined to see this one through for the color.
  18. Getting close now
  19. Looks great. Love the old Cords
  20. I've got one of the Revell Snappers and I do agree with you accuracy but, that god awful dreaded Red plastic. That's why I picked the AMT one up.
  21. I just picked up the AMT 1963 Corvette kit. I knew going in that it was an old tooling and was wondering what others might have done for a more detailed chassis instead of the supplied molded one? Kicking around 1962 Corvette for a more stock appearance but just didn't know. Or maybe using a newer Vette as a donor for a resto-mod, engine, chassis and maybe some interior? Would like to go more stock though. I do have both the convertible and split window kits so maybe one stock and one resto-mod.
  22. Yes I plan on the black strip package on the hood and sides, chin spoiler but debating about decklid spoiler though
  23. Getting closer.
  24. Looks great
