  1. I love these old Johan kits. Wish someone would retool or find the original molds and bring them back. Olds looks great.
  2. I thought I would take advantage of the little warmer weather here in Maryland this week since I've been working what seems like non-stop and try and get my 64 Impala painted. Primed with Tamiya Gray Primer and then a couple coats of Tamiya Maroon. Did go as well as I had hoped. Paint ran off high spots and panel seams. Guess I'll have to wait the cooler weather out and scuff and repaint. I like the color though. I started a 50 Oldsmobile with this color but after the first coat it looked like it was going to be purple looking but i was determined to see this one through for the color.
  3. Getting close now
  4. Looks great. Love the old Cords
  5. I've got one of the Revell Snappers and I do agree with you accuracy but, that god awful dreaded Red plastic. That's why I picked the AMT one up.
  6. I just picked up the AMT 1963 Corvette kit. I knew going in that it was an old tooling and was wondering what others might have done for a more detailed chassis instead of the supplied molded one? Kicking around 1962 Corvette for a more stock appearance but just didn't know. Or maybe using a newer Vette as a donor for a resto-mod, engine, chassis and maybe some interior? Would like to go more stock though. I do have both the convertible and split window kits so maybe one stock and one resto-mod.
  7. Yes I plan on the black strip package on the hood and sides, chin spoiler but debating about decklid spoiler though
  8. Getting closer.
  9. Looks great
  10. Making slow progress on this.
  11. I've got one of these started and don't even notice the type. As far as clear goes, I've been using Tamiya TS-13 straight out if the can with no problems. I've also been using paint from Scsle Finishes and have not needed to clear them. Here's mine with Calypso Coral from Scale Finishes, no clear. Keep at it will look great when completed.
  12. Updates? Been thinking about something along these lines as well but, not Ivo truck.
  13. Contact info? To make it a little easier for some of us to e-mail them. I myself, not really interested in the Nova's but the Altered wheelbase Plymouths kits are a must.
  14. Looks great. Love these kits. Have the Pearson one in progress and have 3 more in the quest to do. Thanks for sharing. The biggest issues I have seen is the fitment of the windows and grille. Looks like yours went together pretty good.
  15. Need some help identifying some associate sponsors. Looking at the 1961 World 600 Winner
  16. Next up the beautiful set of decals from Powerslide
  17. Made headlight covers and had to trim some of the kit headlight buckets to get it close to reference pictures. Grille didnt fit well, had to modify the fender lip and ground out some on top of bumper where it wraps around the corner. Made an overflow and filler neck from aluminum tubing and used the kit supplied taillight covers. Windows just set in place for now to double check the fitment. Had to work on window channels, front and rear, to get windows to fit better.
  18. It's been a while since I painted it but, I'm pretty sure it was Dupli-color Autumn Maple Met. I also used a darker red on some of the interior but do not recall what that was other than a Dupli-color. Then I used Tamiya Semi-Gloss clear on all of it.
  19. Since hearing about his death, I took to my model stash and dug this one out. I've had it in the works for a while now but, I haven't had much time to work on it. I made some time last night to work on it. Getting it closer to being completed.
  20. Any updates?
  21. Was thinking about maybe building a model of the Destroyer that mu Grandfather was on during WW II. What's the opinion as to who has the best, most reasonable priced kit? Having never built a ship model before not sure about the kits themselves. Was looking at Revells Fletcher Class. Any opinions?
  22. Looking at getting this painted before winter and was wondering if anybody knew what color the car really was? I have seen pictures as Orange and some a Reddish Orange. One picture to me looks like Fords Calypso Coral would be close which I have left from airbrushing a '70 Boss 302.
  23. Beautiful. Not too many of these have been posted. I had built one box stock and it turned out great I think. Yours is a beauty for sure.
  24. Got the body primed and painted today.
