  1. Some colour. Chrome base, pearls with a fade over it.
  2. Thanks guys for following along with this process and the kind comments of support. Richard, no worries on paint creep, everything gets a coat of clear before the next colour step. The front end checkers are laid, 160 1.5mm checkers in total. Being hand cut they are not perfect, but after all, much of what we do in 1/25 scale is learning how to make things work. It's all a learning process.
  3. Thanks for checking in on the progress and the kind words of support guys. It is a lengthy process, and this is just the start.
  4. This kicks some serious butt. Very nice work.
  5. How I am cutting the checkers for the front end.
  6. Thanks guys for your feed back, much appreciated. Looks like I will be getting one then.
  7. This one I will be following. Fantastic start, best of luck with this. I do my wn casting too but have yet to try a shell. I appreciate the time involved with doing such a mod.
  8. A-pilar roof junction checkers down, I wanted them t look like they are starting to come apart, unfortunately they look a little too ragged. This is the adhesive causing some of this, I can straighten them some what then they just squirm back. Working with them is kind of like bending spring metal, you have to bend it past the settling point. I am sure they will look fine in the end. Been working on the front, trying different methods of cutting 1.5mm checkers. Finally settled on a method that works.
  9. Looking great.
  10. Some more messing around. I fashioned myself a double bladed knife to make some more checkers out of Tamiya tape. Wanted to see if it might behave better then the AIZU micro tape I used previous. It works the same, the tape will squirm around after it has been placed then positioned. The key it to place a corner exactly where it needs to be then press the rest of the "checker" onto the surface. Crazy hard to do. The checkers I laid previous were .7mm, today's checkers I am laying on the A-pilar are .4mm. One day I will come up with a better method of cutting far more consistent looking "squares". These were cut using the double blade then I just eyeballed the "squares". Currently working on the other A-pilar. I also fashioned some .24mm pinstripping. Just taking it on a test run on a spoon, hoping to incorporate it into this somewhere too. In keeping with my theme of trying new things I am also currently attempting to create that cracking effect when lacquer is laid over enamel. I am not sure it will occure as I used Acetone to thin the enamel. I currently have three spoons with three different base colours, Tangerine Orange, Light Blue, and Copper, with Tamiya TS-64 Mica Blue Lacquer over top. I really hope it cracks, it better BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH well. I have had enough back luck with past paint jobs If anyone of you more experienced builds have any sure ways to to this please post it up. I would gladly try your suggestion. If I can make it happen I will incorporate it into then lay out. I will have another update later today.
  11. Cool looking. One question, why do all your photo's appear elongated?

    Ford 5-Window

Great amount of detail, good stuff. The wheels no tire's are cool.
  13. Exquisite, the nickel plating is fantastic, is that kit plating or did you do that?
  14. Sounds like a fun 1:1 car. I like the manual brake switch. That would come in handy for tailgaters. The build looks good, nice BMF work, nice touch adding the Chrome trim to the rear compartment carpet area.
  15. A very well done version of a classic '80s car. Your BMF work is fantastic, great work all round.
  16. That is so cool, one of my fav body styles. Your work is so clean, and the paint looks great, nice going. The one thing l would add is. I love seeing how much care and attention gets put into these builds with all the BMF work and detail painting of the dash etc. I am always left wondering why not go the extra bit and add plug wires, just curious is all.

    Cobra 427

Bravo! Wow, the engine detail s simply outstanding. Having worked with those teeny, tiny PE screw heads I know how hard it is to get them just right. Fantastic added detail. Great build!
  18. Really clean looking build, all the Chrome detail you have done stands out and adds a ton of realism to it. Great job.
  19. Good work all round. It must be '57 Ford day.
  20. Nice build collection you have there. I never knew there were that many option of the same car. I see some great custom potential in all of these.
  21. Lol, what ever works. Very nice weathering on the windows BTW. It looks like a bunch of kids with sticky hands and a dog with a wet nose went on a long road trip, nice touch.
  22. AWESOME! Simply great exiicusion, and the best use of a Ferrari Mythos. Really great scratching on the ropulsion devise.
  23. I really like this build. The attention to detail is outstanding, the maintenance pouch is awesome.
  24. Super build, the paint is great.
