  4. Now thats the ultimate compliment!
  5. Very nice build the color choice came out good. one small piece of advice for your next build. I noticed that your paint comes out bumpy (thats called orange peel) to you can get a smoother paint by following these simple steps next time. 1. If your using spray cans, boil some water in a pot after it comes to a boil turn the fire off, then place your can in the hot water for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. this will thin you paint and it will atomize better giving you a smoother finish. 2. Instead of trying to cover your model with one quick coat of paint, do several thin coats. Start by misting your paint onto the body very lightly do one coat then let it sit for 15 mins. (this is called flash time) once the paint has flashed do another thin coat in the opposite direction of the first coat( If you went up and down on the first coat, go back anf forth on the next coat) keep doing this untill you get the shade you want. 3. dont rush it a good paint job could take you hours to complete. after you get these basics down then look into paint polishing. sorry for hi-jacking your thread but I hope this will help you to gain a glassy paint job. 6. Looks like this is gonna be a nice re-build , but before you go any further you maight want to reconsider the type of hinge your using. the one you have on the body right now is incorrect. Try this link it will help you to correct that. correct hing
  7. this is gonna be good!!!!!!
  8. Here ya go Jim let me know what you think.....
  9. I cant remember my first build but i do know it didnt look as good as this, keep up the good work
  10. Almost left out the pics of the completed lines from the fuel cell. the fuel line holds were made from the same solder the lines were made from I just pressed it flat by rolling my exacto blade handle over it. I couldnt find a fuel pump anywhere so I ended up making one. enjoy.....
  11. OK now I need to put it all together ...... heres the splitter box gluded to the fuel line that will be comming from the fuel cell... here the assembaly has been pretty much completed. all thats left to do is conect it to the carbs cant really see it good (camera didnt want to focus on the lines) but here it is conected to the carbs.
  12. Ok for the line itself I used .022 Silver-bearing solder from RadioShack and #1 A-N fittings I usually use sharpie markers to color the A-N fittings I couldnt find my blue one so I used Tamiya clear blue when it came time to color the blue A-N fittings.
  13. Ok were not done with the Chevelle just yet ! So today while sitting in my office i was able to get the fuel pump and lines hooked up to the tank and run to the front of the car cant complete the hook-up untill the body is on the frame. I also made a in-line pressure gauge and line splitter. enjoy..... I started with a piece of hexagon styrene and flatened it to make a box and then drilled 3 small holes one in each end and one in the middle, this will be the splitter for the fuel lines between the carbs If you look closely you might be able to see the very small pressure gauge i made. (look inside the bottom of photoetch sprue) here I painted the splitter box Tamiya Blue x-4

  25. I thought I was gonna rush out and buy this kit, but the $750.00 price tag slaped me in the face as hard as my wife would have if I would've bought it. Good job on the build though and I know your loving every bit of it. Romell
