Revell 4th Quarter new kit announcements
charlie8575 replied to Brett Barrow's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
You haven't been to New Bedford lately. They're still running brick LTDs for unmarkeds! I do agree the '98-'11 would've been great, though, especially with 2-3 wheel and grille options for a range of replication options. Some nice releases coming, though. I'll probably get a Torino- build it as a normal car. I might even get a Rabbit just because I remember so many of them when I was a kid. Charlie Larkin -
Hmm...I might be in for a box or two, too. As to the the chrome- that's why they make bleach and Super-Clean. Charlie Larkin

Very nicely done. Great colors, and that black is nice and glossy- very much like the "piano black" finish now in vogue with cars. Charlie Larkin

I had to wipe all the drool off my keyboard. VERY nice, Peter! Charlie Larkin

Excellent detective work, Niko. Thanks. Charlie Larkin

When you absolutely, positively, must get to that cow-tipping NOW! Great idea, nicely done. Charlie Larkin

Nice, Johnny. It appears that Redbear doesn't have the CS decals anymore. Pity they didn't produce more. I wonder if I could get some produced somewhere? Charlie Larkin

Cords are still to this day, one of the pinnacles of automotive design. Very nice job. Charlie Larkin

Lots of good ideas here. The Imperial convertible- I'd buy a pile of those. One of my favorite designs from the 1960s. Adam-12 cruisers- YES! Again, I'd be in for multiples, and how about Mac's wagons, too. Rockford's Firebird would be nice. I always liked the look of that car. The Vista Cruiser- again, I'd buy at least two or three of those for stock, a H/O wagon, and possibly to convert into a standard-wheelbase, low-roof Cutlass wagon. I'd also buy a Mark IV or two because I like them. How about one of Barnaby Jones' LTDs or the 1973 Galaxie 500 4-door hardtop in Streets of San Francisco? With MeTV, Antenna, RTV and COZI, a lot of these great shows are coming back in full force, so I think they might have a real shot at selling. Charlie Larkin

Thank you. I needed that. Charlie Larkin

Well, my morning has started off so beautifully. Well, at least the weather is nice.... 1. My car won't be back for about a week and a half. 2. I've had one interview all summer- and just received word I didn't get the job, and I was a leading candidate. I still have a few resumes out, so I'm hoping something hits. Charlie Larkin

You're encouraging me to stay single, Tom. Oy....even saying those words is scary, Dan. Charlie Larkin

Don't remind me.... Word from the mechanc. The starter didn't fail (nice change,) it was the flywheel. It keeps stopping at the spot where there's a missing tooth and the starter can't engage it. The worst part: Almost seven hours labor??? On a rear-wheel drive car with no Y-pipe? I really wish I had better balance so I could ride a bike. One of those adult tricycles is really starting to look good right now... Charlie Larkin

My parent's one running car went in for brakes. No big deal, so I drove Dad to work. I stopped on the way back to get breakfast, and the starter ground itself into oblivion. That's like the fourth or fifth one in a year. The nose-cones keep breaking on used and new ones, and in this case, we think the Bendix drive stripped because it's spinning free. Annoying beyond all belief. And because I would've been completely stranded at my garage (which is in the middle of nowhere,) I ended up stuck all day until the car was ready to go home. Oy.... Dinner with a friend from high school I don't get to see anywhere near as much as I'd like. Charlie Larkin
