  1. You did a very nice job on that engine. Indicator of what's to come. Niko, don't short-sell yourself too much. You do some really good work. Charlie Larkin
  2. Doug, that looks great. Beautiful job and a nice way to reintroduce yourself to the hobby. Please keep sharing your work with us. Charlie Larkin
  3. All these Chevettes are making me want one...in plastic and 1:1. Cheap to run and stone-axe simple. Charlie Larkin
  4. Do not drive until all pot holes are patched. Very clean job on that, Blair. Charlie Larkin
  5. Next super jackpot, I'm buying a ticket. In the meantime, I might pay a visit to see what's there, perhaps see if there are some parts for various projects in 1:1 that my friends and I have in progress. Charlie Larkin
  6. Your farewell "gift" to the Infiniti dealer? Get well soon, John. Charlie Larkin
  7. Most of the current crop of heavy-duty trucks are ove-styled to, at least in my opinion, be some of the most hideous things on the road now. And I will buy one of these when finances permit me to. Why? Because the success of this kit is absolutely, unbelievably critical to getting more pickups- 1/2, 3/4, 1-ton and some of the smaller trucks tooled up. This kit needs to be successful. Charlie Larkin
  8. And people wonder why new cars generally fail to really impress me. Charlie Larkin
  9. Sounds like what my father used to tell my mother. "I don't gamble, don't really drink, don't chase women, so this is my vice," as he brought home a hobby shop's worth of model airplanes. Charlie Larkin
  10. Nearest one to me is....about an hour away in Manchester, N.H. No incentive to go there since I have one excellent and two solid hobby shops nearby. Now....if I end up at UMASS Amherst for the graduate day program/assistantship, they have one in Holyoke, and I might go check it out. But, then again, Pioneer Valley Hobbies in West Springfield (about the same time to Holyoke) and Hog Heaven Hobbies in Sturbridge (roughly an hour and on the way home) are much safer bets for lack of disappointment. Charlie Larkin
  11. Very realistic, nice execution. Charlie Larkin
  12. Great idea and nice work with that. Charlie Larkin
  13. Even if it's still WIP in a week, Jeff, bring it on down to MassCar. I think it'll be well-recieved. Nice work. Charlie Larkin
  14. Amazingly good, Tom. I love your work- true excellence. Charlie Larkin
  15. Looks nice. I was given a '10, but have been a little hestitant to do much with it because of the ride-height and not being sure how to fix it. Any suggestions? Charlie Larkin
  16. Honestly, the best thing to do is go to your favorite search engine and start seeing what pictures you can find. i do know that red interiors were available in T-Birds. Here's a couple of places to start with. http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/ford/thunderbird/1618893.html https://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images;_ylt=A0LEV0assRZTwQ8AXM9XNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTB0cTA1N3VzBHNlYwNzYwRjb2xvA2JmMQR2dGlkA1ZJUDM4NF8x?_adv_prop=image&fr=fptb-msgr&va=1956+Ford+Thunderbird Charlie Larkin
  17. Saturday, I picked up a nice deal. A 1993 issue AMT '63 Chevy Impala SS. I might use that as a roof donor for my Wildcat if I can't fix the roof and/or the windows. If I end up using the roof, this becomes a convertible. I also got a 2002-issue '49 Merc, mainly for the flathead for the Revell Merc wagon I plan on acquiring Both for less than half the price of one new kit. Good deal. Charlie Larkin
  18. That white interior is about the only thing that does look good with that green, aside from possibly black. Very nice work on all this, Mike. I regret we won't be seeing you at MassCar week after next, but hopefully we'll see you soon. Charlie Larkin
  19. Very nice build. The world needs more early/brass-era cars. Charlie Larkin
  20. Great work, Nick. Everything works well together. Charlie Larkin
  21. Depends on the divorce decree! I'm hoping to make it, and maybe have one or two items for the table. Charlie Larkin
  22. Just a quick reminder for New England and northeast folks that MassCar will be holding its show on March 16 at the Holiday Inn in Taunton, Mass. There will also be the traditional Saturday night banquet and trvia match. The themes this year will be the Mustang's 50th, 100th anniversary of Dodge and an award for best MoPar. The hotel rooms are booked, but there are plenty of hotels near the show (15-25 minutes.) Charlie Larkin
  23. Michael, Mike has essentially the best procedure. To clarify Ray's statement, the clear should be applied after the second color. Do try to polish out the paint some with 1500/2400/3600/finer if you can get it sandpaper, using the wet-sanding method. That will make it as level as possible. Allow the paint to dry for at least a week or two before doing this, though. Art is also correct- don't use newspaper, or you're going to have one funky paintjob. I know people who use kraft-paper bags with reasonable success. There's also special masking paper made, but that can get expensive. Try the printer paper-I'd be curious to see how it works. Charlie Larkin
  24. I'd like to purchase about a dozen or so mirrors from the early-mid '60s GM cars for a lot of the builds I have going on. If anyone has mirrors to spare, please let me know. Charlie Larkin
