  1. At least when I was a kid (mid-1980s), I remember the Gold Cup kits being maybe $2-3 more than the USA Oldies series, except the 1968 Fury police car. I also remember the Turbine car was expensive enough that my dad almost blew a gasket when I showed it to him! Hey, I was like 9 at the time...and it's still sitting in a box awaiting assembly. When I feel my skills are good enough to do that kit the justice it deserves, I'll build it. Charlie Larkin
  2. Those are spectacular. Did you do the engine in the Jordan kit? Charlie Larkin
  3. Gorgeous. Great colors, very nice work on this. The blue/blue and those nice Modelhaus whitewalls. Very well done. Charlie Larkin
  4. Nice job on the hoist, I agree. Everything is coming out beautifully. Charlie Larkin
  5. Very nice job on that, too. The colors work well together. Charlie Larkin
  6. Nice work, Peter. That interior really does capture the "fawn" color quite well. What paint did you use for that? Charlie Larkin
  7. Great colors and I like that antenna. Charlie Larkin
  8. Nice job on that, Peter. Those Jo-Han Gold Cup kits still rank, I think, as some of the best ones ever made. Charlie Larkin
  9. A well-timed good laugh. Charlie Larkin
  10. If you can't find a 454 in HO, you could always use the flathead in Jordan's 1940 Ford. Charlie Larkin
  11. I wasn't home most of (now yesterday) and just found this. I will never forget. Nobody I know ever will. Doug- nice piece of woodworking. Charlie Larkin
  12. The de-bossing rig for the foil is brilliant. Really coming together nicely. Charlie Larkin
  13. A great model to pay tribute, if even in a small way, to a day that transformed not just America, but the world. And a beautiful, tastefully-executed display to boot. Charlie Larkin
  14. I want to see the body, too. The interior looks nice, but I'd like to see a close-up of the dash. Charlie Larkin
  15. Sorry to hear about your cousin, it sounds like it's for the better under the circumstances, though. Nice work on the front clip and chassis. I'll look forward to seeing more. Charlie Larkin
  16. Very nice work, Art, especially on that chassis. The door hinges are nicely done, too. If money goes the way I want, I might actually be able to fly out to NNL West this year. I hope I get to see this there if I can make it. Charlie Larkin
  17. Nice job, Rich. Captures the flavor of the rod well, mixing it with a little bit of a mild custom feel. I like it. Charlie Larkin
  18. Very nice, Mike. That red reminds me of the Ford "Redfire" color. I do so wish the automobile companies would start offering colors of interior besides off-black, gray and, if you're lucky, some tan/brown shade. Charlie Larkin
  19. Very nice, Terry. The winner will be lucky indeed. Charlie Larkin
  20. This is great news indeed, Terry. Since your diagnosis a few months back, and we hadn't seen much of you, I had been wondering how you were doing, and I'm glad to see you're doing well- exceptionally well, from the sounds of things. Having had to watch my mom recover from breast cancer, all I can say is do what the doctor says as best you can and hang in there. And as Dan said, anyone who survives this did NOT turn in their man card! Stand fast, and we'll hopefully see you at Classic Plastic or BayCon. Charlie Larkin
  21. I knew I forgot something- the 1961-69 Continentals! I love those. I think those, without question, in the top 5 for best-looking car ever produced in this country. For me, you can really add anything that has extra-heavy Art Deco influence, too. Richard- what is that ultra-modern car? Charlie Larkin
  22. Beautiful! Charlie Larkin
  23. What a great idea to use a display case like that. Not only a creative use of materials, but very well done, too. Charlie Larkin
  24. Nice job. Charlie Larkin
  25. I really like that barn, Sam. Nice work with the car, too. Charlie Larkin
