  1. It's set to New England ride height. Nice job; what color did you use? Charlie Larkin
  2. Who made the Stag model? Nice job with the dio. Charlie Larkin
  3. I love the poetic justice in this.... Charlie Larkin
  4. Chassis plate is now painted. I solve it the easy way and paint it flat black. That looks enough like undercoating so that nobody's going to argue too much! I'll be doing the detail painting tomorrow after the paint dries. Charlie Larkin
  5. Libertarian, actually.....the anti-Commie! I just don't drink that much. Charlie Larkin
  6. But I never have beer with pizza. Come to think of it, I almost never have beer (or any other alcoholic beverage.) I scare people enough sober... Charlie Larkin
  7. The AMT 1971 Charger is correct. Another good solution would be to find one of the Wal-Mart '74 Road Runners, as that has the correct catalytic-converter exhaust molded in. The rest of the underside and engine are direct-fits, unless you want a 318/360, in which case you'll need a 1971 Duster for a really nice LA-Block (from what I'm told,) but there are other options out there, too. As to the interior, I'm not sure what's right, aside from the Fury's. I wish you well in this. This is will be an arduous undertaking, with great reward if it's successful. Charlie Larkin
  8. Jon: If the headlights are included in that setup, you're all set. The '57s had single headlights with turn-signals inboard. I can't think off the top of my head where they were on the '58s, but I think they need to be removed. Aside from that, I can't think of any major differences. Charlie Larkin
  9. I'd say Testor's copper comes pretty close. Maybe add a drop or two of gold to brighten/yellow it a little, but that basic paint will, I think, get you in the right direction. Charlie Larkin
  10. Remember, most printers can handle up to about 28-lb paper without too much trouble. Find a piece of styrene sheet that's about that thick, or a little less, and give it a shot. The plastic should still be flexible enough to not jam, but I question how it will feed in re: feed speed, etc., and whether the ink will stick to the plastic. I'd be sure to wash it thoroughly prior to use, just to be sure. Charlie Larkin
  11. Try Model Master Dried Acrylic Paint remover. I used it and it works very well. Use great caution, though, as it's quite strong, and follow the directions to the letter. I'd also recommend trying 91% alcohol. I don't think it'll bother regular paint. Charlie Larkin
  12. Nice job, Mike. Charlie Larkin
  13. A lot of the parts I needed s/g black are painted; the dash is ready to go except for the wood-grain and sem-gloss black trim area. I just realized I forgot to paint the grab-handle. I'll take care of that in tomorrow. I'll also see about getting some of the detail painting done. I'll need to get some semi-gloss and flat finish to put over the interior parts, as well. At some point, I'll have the ability to get some pictures taken, or if need be, run off the last couple of shots I have one of the 35mm and load the CD pictures. Charlie Larkin
  14. You don't need to be a pro. Your work is very nice and definitely something you can be happy with. Looking forward to more of your builds. Charlie Larkin
  15. That's coming along very nicely. Definitely something you can be proud of. Charlie Larkin
  16. You're right, I did miss that detail. Sorry about that. That'll look nice with the wood. Charlie Larkin
  17. Looks good with the wires. Have you decided on a color yet? Charlie Larkin
  18. That AMX is coming out great! The bronze is a nice color choice. As for myself....everything is now primed. Today we have reasonably nice weather for December (feels like about 48-50 and DRY!) so I decided to get my parts primed and ready to paint. The interior will be getting a little touch-up and the dash repainted. I'll probably be doing this via airbrush to make life easier. Other plans include doing the chassis and other small parts in their respective colors. I'm still trying to settle on an exterior color. As to completion....I may be moving in the next month, so things may need to be back-burnered temporarily. In that respect, I'm really glad we ended up getting a June completion, I may need it for reasons other than weather. Charlie Larkin
  19. Interesting reuse of economy diecasts and old shelves. I must say, I was quite impressed with the stone walls. Charlie Larkin
  20. Bob (or anyone else) Can Tamiya primer be used under automotive paints? I ask because it seems to be lacquer base. At least the bottled primer I have, only lacquer thinner will take it off the brush. Charlie Larkin
  21. Nice work. Charlie Larkin
  22. Very nice job. Novas work well in dark brown with light tan interiors. Charlie Larkin
  23. The Diamond Dust resembles Lt. Titanium CC Met. very nicely in the pictures. Nice, clean build of an under-appreciated car. Charlie Larkin
  24. Nice to see some new work, Gonzo! And a very nice pick. Thanks for the review of the Hendrix kit, too. It's on my "think about it" list. Charlie Larkin
  25. The professional has spoken. And I agree. Charlie Larkin
