  1. I echo the others, very nicely done. Which Chevelle was that, the AMT or Revell? Charlie Larkin
  2. Nice job with this. Sorry about the decals, it's one of the reasons I try to avoid them whenever I can, but the overall build is spectacular and definitely something to be happy with. Charlie Larkin
  3. Nice work on the paint, and very good job on the wheels. TM= Tamyia paint, I'm guessing? Charlie Larkin
  4. Looks great. I really do like how you did the interior, and it gives me some ideas how to do mine, too. Thanks for the tip. Are you going to do it as a Bel Air or 210? Charlie Larkin
  5. Ron, you can definitely be proud of anything you put up here. I love that Buick, or any full-size car of the early 1960s, really. As to everything else, with 3-1/3 years of <50% employment, a good distance from family, etc., and basically watching my life fall out from under me, I understand exactly what you're going through. A model now and then, even just to poke through and imagine possibilities, has helped me keep my sanity. May 2010 be better for us all. Charlie Larkin
  6. Who's making the resin seats for this? I've toyed with building one of mine (I think I have two) as a LeMans with the OHC-6 from the Firebird, just for something different. Anyone tried putting that engine in the Revell chassis? I'm also wondering if the Rally II wheels and AMT tires will fit the Revell backs, as I know that's been a problem in the past. Or...are there Rally IIs in the Revell line or resin that'll fit? Charlie Larkin
  7. I like it! I love it! I want more of it! Been listening to C&W a little lately, sorry. Seriously, I really do like the way that looks, Bruce. Charlie Larkin
  8. I have an Aztek A320, which is a decent airbrush. It takes a little getting used to, but it works well and lays down a nice, smooth coat of paint with a little practice. I am, however, considering going to a Passche, as they do seem to be a nice airbrush. The only Badger I've ever had good luck with is the 250 (a.k.a the little cheapie most people start out with.) Charlie Larkin
  9. Nice work on all of them; I like the '60 and the GTO best. The Vega's cool too. Is that the original kit or is someone making those in resin now? Charlie Larkin
  10. After what the last almost four years brought for me George with (lack of) employment, misery and dealing with the people that make people miserable all the time, there is absolutely something to be said in that approach, too. Charlie Larkin
  11. Please tell me that's some kind of alteration! The tragedy of it all.... Charlie Larkin
  12. Wow, you're busy! Quantity and quality. Always a nice combination to see achieved. Charlie Larkin
  13. Very sharp 'Vette. My favorites are the 1958-62, but the Mako Shark generation, in the right colors, look good, too, especially the convertibles. Charlie Larkin
  14. NNL East will be April 18. NNL East 2010. As it looks now, I'll probably be doing income taxes this year for a part-time job, so I doubt I'll be able to make it to Portland, but one can never tell. New Jersey, however, is another story. I might be able to pull that off. Love to see you if you can come east. Charlie Larkin
  15. WOW! I wish one thing I had taken more of was metal-work/machining in college and high school. I regret never having done it. I've considered taking it at the vocational high school's night classes, but can never quite get it into my schedule or budget. Great work. Charlie Larkin
  16. Neat inspiration and a good-looking build. Out of curiosity, which NNL are you talking about? I know NNL East is going to be end of March or April. Charlie Larkin
  17. A good reuse of the model. Looks like you're off to a good start. Charlie Larkin
  18. Very nice paint job, Mike. That'll look nice when it's done. Charlie Larkin
  19. It works..... The automobile companies need to hire you to do their designs, Bruce. Charlie Larkin
  20. A Pocher a la slot car would be VERY cool, especially if you hit a little electric motor in the block, seeing it's hollow anyway. This is an awesome build, Jairus. I've been toying with trying this with one of my Woodies. I might try it as a sample body, and build the kit as intended, but this is really cool. Charlie Larkin
  21. Absolutely wonderful! One of the most creative exercises I've seen in quite some time! Charlie Larkin
  22. You and I are thinking along the same lines, I see. Charlie Larkin
  23. The color sounds interesting; sometimes I wish I did customs, you get to have so much fun with the colors and effects. Charlie Larkin
  24. The interior on my GTO is now painted. The airbrush (and the paint, which lost some of its solvent and had to be mixed and remixed) fought me all the way, but it got done. I'm now sitting with the window cracked open at 30 degrees outside to let my apartment vent. (and wishing I wasn't a bachelor ) Model Master Chrysler Engine Blue is a fairly nice match for GM blue vinyl of the period. I'm still figuring out what I want to do for the interior. If I can come up with cash, I might order a bottle of Barrier Blue from MCW, otherwise, it's Cameo Ivory, A.K.A. Dupli-Color DS-GM153, which is very easy to obtain at auto parts store for less money. Charlie Larkin
  25. I don't think we quite hit an inch here. It was all gone by 11:30 this morning, anyway.
