Not everyone is hellbent on building an outstanding model car. Most are just having a relaxing and fun time with the kit and aren't too fussed if their 5th attempt doesn't look much better than the first. I was like that as a kid and sometimes miss that attitude. These casual builders are an important aspect of the model kit business and one of the main reasons there is money to invest in new tooling. Personally I don't have to like everything about someone's model to say something positive and I certainly don't feel I'm being dishonest in doing so - just supportive. Obviously this won't improve a modeler's skills - but zero comments won't either. On this forum I think there is a good balance of gentle criticism and "pats on the back".
Another knockout beautiful hot rod from you Clifford! So much to admire here, but I'm specially impressed with the window frames - I can't imagine doing that!
Just had a look and my 67 promo has the blades as you describe, ie closer to the edge of the fender. Never noticed before that the real car doesn't have them - looks better without them, too.
Hope the news continues to be good Harry. Being a lung-cancer survivor (the right lung was removed 6 years ago) I know about those sleepless nights. All the best, we need you.
The Johan 59 DeSoto and Chrysler are two of my favorite possessions. I'm not interested in opening the hoods but if anyone were to offer interiors for them, I'd be a taker.
