  1. Looks fantastic! I have similar plans for the same promo and hope it turns out so nice.
  2. I would DEFINITELY buy any of the above - or any wagon you care to name!
  3. I have just opened my kit and I have to say I AM a little disappointed in the texture on some of the chrome parts. If I build it I will certainly strip and sand these parts and have them rechromed. The same texture on the body won't bother me and it looks to be a very nice kit on the whole.
  4. Thanks again people for your time and input. As soon as it cools down a bit here I'll have another crack at it.
  5. Ray, I don't really know what a softener sheet is but I'll check it out. Michael, I'm intrigued by this idea and will certainly give it a go. Any idea WHY it works?
  6. Thanks Mike C. I will definitely try the wetting idea but I can't try out any of the suggestions at the moment -"it's too darned hot"! Here's an idea: if I place an object with a very strong static charge in the cabin, but away from the line of fire, would this divert airborne dust away from the model?
  7. Thanks very much to all of you for the helpful tips. I just thought I'd add a coupla pics of my paint booth, which I built under a staircase. The door is sealed when shut and there are fine screens in it to filter incoming air. Ventilation from 4 small fans seems to work well. I lined the walls with a plastic-ish floor covering - perhaps that was a mistake. About wetting the walls and floor - would this not create humidity problems?
  8. James, that doesn't change my opinion that it's a fantastic model, beautifully detailed and weathered. It's a shame that individual posts can't be deleted instead of shutting the whole thread down - but I guess that would be a LOT of work.
  9. My models attract dust etc when I'm spray painting them. It looks like this is caused by a static charge which I assume builds up while sanding the parts. Any ideas about how to prevent this happening - or how to release the charge?

Wow, that is going to be fantastic!
  11. Beautiful drawings, you have a real gift.
  12. (Really enjoyed that surf sound Mike_G) I quit gigging 20 years ago but still play most days and this what I use at home now. I still have a Mesa Boogie from my band days but prefer these smaller amps at home. The black guitar is a 1982 Yamaha SBG1200 and the white one a Levinson Blade R2 from 1990. Both are great sounding guitars but I've just about worn out the neck on the Blade. The blue box on the Vox is a Digi-Tech JamMan looper which I use to create backing tracks - very simple to operate and great if you're playing on your own.
  13. Glad to hear the good news, Harry - you're obviously someone who puts his eyes to optimal use. Fantastic work on the Rolls.
  14. Great looking truck! Actually I like both versions.
  15. Excellent, a fine looking model by any standard.
  16. Greg, those early Monogram Fords were my favourite kits as a young teenager and I've bought the 30, 34 and 36 kits again in recent years (for somewhat more dosh than I paid in 1962). I think they've stood the test of time well - but must admit I see them with nostalgic eyes. The wire wheels in the 34 are as good as any I've seen since.
  17. What a neat idea! Might be marketable as a sophisticated toy?

    That interior looks fantastic!
  19. One of a number of kits that defeated me back then - probably would today too - but you did an excellent job!
  20. This was parked outside my house last night. First time I've seen lake pipes on a VW!
  21. Nice work Tommy! These were really cool looking cars.
  22. Flawless workmanship as always from you,Tom.
  23. Looks great! Always enjoy your work, Al.
  24. Yet another winner, Al. Looks fantastic, like the box art come to life!
