Testors 'Car Colors' from ca.1984
pack rat replied to 1972coronet's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
1813 Black Pearl is still on Testors' website. I think most of the Car Colors disappeared after the Model Master metallics came along, but I remember seeing Cherry Red and Blue Pearl on the shelves a few years later. -

What is up with Round 2's decals
pack rat replied to Custom Hearse's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've used their decals on about twenty builds over the last five years and have never had this problem. A problem unique to those particular kits perhaps? Have you contacted Round2? -

The kit shouldn't be on that website.....it was cancelled -
Can anyone identify this car/kit?

Cool stuff, Tom. While we're on the subject of sub-par models, what about Palmer Plastics? I bet that building looked pretty good on the outside....not so much after you walked in the door. -

James is on the right track. It's still coming, and I suspect it might re-appear on the website soon -

If that was one of my projects, I would have accidentaly flung it off of the bench at least once during the mock-up stage -

How about knocking over a full bottle of Ambroid, all over your pristine painted/detailed model bits? -

I did the same thing once...grabbed Liquid Decal Film thinking it was Micro Set. The only time I've ever done it, and it was a Round2 box art kit that was needed for photography like, yesterday. I managed to patch up the paint and replaced the ruined decals (black stripes) with black Bare Metal and pinstriping tape. Thank God it didn't show up on the box, but every time I look at it I squint and look really close just to make sure. -

Don't worry, the Galaxie is still coming. -

Like Tom G said, I was very surprised there is no tie-in to Wayne's World with this kit, given several other recent movie-themed releases (Three Stooges, Beverly Hills Cop, Elvis Manx etc). I believe the Pacer Rotary engine was to be purchased from GM, who was developing it for their H-bodies (Monza etc), but GM canceled the project. -
'64 Pontiac Grand Prix
pack rat replied to forthlin's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hope you noticed the '64 T-Bird wheels and ordered the correct ones from Modelhaus too. Back in '64 AMT wasn't too concerned about installing the correct wheels on the frictions; my '64 GP came with '63 Vette wheels and I had a '64 T-Bird with '64 Impala wheels...all kinds of variations out there. -
The plan is to use the new-tool Duster, but they're also aware of the other minor issues mentioned re the body proportioning.

The RCHTA special is a 1980 Monte Carlo, the same kit re-issued by Round2 as the Class Action kit

The Petty Dart sure doesn't look like a '72 to me. It has a '70-only rear bumper and a '70-'71 grille

Time for AMT / Round @ to get going ?
pack rat replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Round2 mentioned the '32 sedan on the Spotlight board a couple of years ago. They were gauging interest in the kit should it ever become a re-issue candidate. There was NO implication that any of the lost tooling had been discovered, nor did they mention ANY plans for a re-issue. Rest assured, if they found this one they would love to bring it back, but that's a huge "IF"
