  1. Looks good! Corvairs got a bum deal from Nader and his groupies and they really are a cute little car. I almost bought a Monza two door sedan back around 1971 and while i actually liked the car, it's lack of a heater was what caused me to pass on buying it. You did a nice job on your model.. looks great!!!
  2. This should be really, really nice when completed!! The green is pretty.. some stripes and contrssting colours will really bring that little truck to life! Wow!
  3. VERY nice!!! I like the paint schemes and the colours are perfect!
  4. Our condolances from the Cook household on your loss. It's never easy losing a loved one and so much bad stuff seems to happen to people right around Christmas.. not sure why it seems to happen this way, but I know a lot of people who have lost loved ones at this time of year. I truly believe that He does indeed hear your cry and He knows your sorrow and hurt and yes, it's OK to vent - absolutely.
  5. Why? That's easy - $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I agree in that a sequel is seldom if ever as good as the original although I actually liked F&F2 better than the first one. The cars were sure a lot better anyways.. especially this one - http://www.imcdb.org/i000935.jpg My world ain't got no place for imports of any kind - give me tried and true good old American muscle anyday!!! I think that the producers are still trying to capitalize on the popularity of the first one or two F&F's.. I have seen them all and after the last one, I'll pass on a fifth, thanks. Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much Hollywood sensationalism and fantasy..
  6. If I was a pitbull and the thieves had AK 47's, I'd just stand by and watch too.. Sorry to make light of a situation.. Seriously, at least you guys can still be friends with Mr. Smith & Mr. Wesson - here in Canada, we'd have to defend ourselves with a kitchen fork.. stinkin' gun control..
  7. Now see - builds like yours are what keep me coming back to this site!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow!!!!! Is that EVER sweet!!!!!!!!!!!! Boy does that wagon and trailer put a smiile on my face!!!! You have just made my day! How refreshing - no "baby buggy wheels" - the floor pans are not riding on the ground - no disresepct to anyone but this IS different and sweet!!! It's just bone stock and so righteous!!! I have looked at the Flintstone wagon on Ebay many times but wondered the interior bucket.. how to create something that wouldn't be a major project. Yeah - I guess I'm getting lazy in my old age.. but you show how you did it - thank you! A really pretty, unique and original idea and combination - AAA+++ in my books!
  8. Looks like your prices are good and your shipping is really fair.. If your quality is good, I'd venture to say that you will sell some parts. I like the flat Challenger hood - interesting. Here's a suggestion - It looks like you like wheels - you may want to consider trying to make some old style 3/4 ton wheels and some good stock newer style and older style GM 16" duals for one tons. I have found Ford wheels for duals but no GM ones yet.. they have a different look to them. Lots of guys like trucks and building commercial type rigs and have to buy a complete kit just to get proper style wheels. PM me if you want pictures of the different style wheels.. I have wheels here from the '50's through the '90's if you need reference photos and measurements.
  9. We had a similiar fireman's function here in town this past summer and my wife and I went to it because I wanted to look at the trucks. Some of them are simply gorgeous with their unique and very attractive paint schemes and all the polished aluminum and chrome! I have a real thing for one ton trucks on duals for some reason - always have as long as I can recall and I really was not disappointed with the trucks that were there at that show. I took a ton of pictures - I should try and find them and post some of them here.
  10. Oh yeah - she's hurtin' real bad.. poor girl... I loved the design of the first gen Star Trek ships and I always felt true sorrow when one was destroyed and lost.. and when the original Enterprise was destroyed in Star Trek III, I honestly felt that it really was the end of Star Trek as we all had known it and I felt genuine sadness when she did her death dive.. I have to admit that it was cool to see the saucer seperate to become a giant "life boat". Seeing starships destroyed never thrilled me just as seeing old ocean going ships or old airplanes being scrapped always tugs at my heart strings. I know that we just can not keep everything but I just do not like watching an old ship that has been who knows where and has given her all faithfully being sunk or cut up for scrap. I guess that I am just a sentimental old fool.. My wife and I went to the last Star Trek movie but I didn't care for it. What really drew me to see the movie was just the scenes that showed the Enterprise being constructed.. now THAT was cool!!! But with no William Shatner or Leonard Nimoy and the rest of the original cast, I came away feeling unsatisfied. But it was worth it to see the few minutes of the birth of the ship. I enjoyed Star Trek TNG and watched most every episode. I always thought that it had a good cast and Marina Sirtis was the crown jewel in that one - talk about eye candy!!! The ship was a beauty - not as pretty as the original Enterprise - but still very nice to look at.. and some of the episodes were really good.
  11. My middle son loves drag racing - reckon I'll try to go and see this with him. He's 21 and he has a second generation Camaro that he wants to make a race car out of one day. Maybe something like this will give him some motivation to begin to spend some of his money on his car. He's a Camaro nut and it looks like there are some '69's in the show - the '69 is his Holy Grail of cars.
  12. Just came across this site with some really nice pictures that someone may be able to get some ideas for paint colours on present or future builds. I have saved the whole page to my hard drive.. some very unusual cars here.. enjoy.. http://www.davidsdimension.com/cars%20from%20my%20youth.htm
  13. Well, once yet again with great enthusiasm and empahasis - the '59 Chevy Brookwood four door wagon - like this - and this car - the main star attraction from the old Hawaii Five-) series.. McGarrett's luxury land yacht - his '68 Mercury Parklane Brougham 4 door hardtop - triple black and beaautiful!!!
  14. Those are nice photos.. reminders of a time gone by. I especially like the second and fourth ones from the top.. I love old buildings - they have such character and charm and I always wonder what they have heard and seen within their walls are around them. Memories.. I wonder who those buildings really mean something speial to? Thanks for posting the pics-- I for one, really enjoyed them.
  15. The car looks great!! The colour looks right and all in all, a very nice, clean build! Congratulations!
  16. You did a VERY nice job on this one!!!!!! AAAAA++ - a definite 10 on a scaLE OF 1-10 IMHO!!! The colour as said, looks pretty close to a stock colour - wow!! I do like it! It's one of those colours that when you see it faded and bleached out on a 1:1 car, you think YUK!! But when it is fresh and shines, it is not difficult to see why someone would have chosen that colour on the showroom floor back in late '65 or 1966 when these were new! Sure is pretty... and the wheels look period correct too! Nice build!!
  17. From our home to yours Ed - Happy Birthday and we wish you countless more to come and good health to go along with it. You are going to find that being 19 ( same age as yours truly ) isn't all that bad after all..
  18. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.. where to start.. too many models - too little time.. but here's a list - all will be built in stock form... 1960 Chevy pickup annual done to replicate my Mom's truck 1964 Pontiac Bonneville hardtop 1959 Ford convertible annual 1959 Ford hardtop annual 1969 Impala hardtop annual 1963 Mercury Meteor annual ( replica of a friend's 1:1 that he bought brand new ) 1963 Chevy short box ( using parts from the AMT 60 Chevy and the Revell '64 ) 1964 Chevy short box 4x4 ( copoy of a friend's 1:1 truck ) 1959 Chevy sedan delivery ( Modelhaus - sweet casting!! ) 1960 Chevy sedan delivery ( Flintsone casting.. wish he had done it properly in stock form ) 1959 Chevy 2 door sedan ( resin ) 1959 Chevy Bel Air hardtop ( from Monogram '59 Impala HT ) 1962 Chevy Impala convertible annual Those will keep me amused for a long time at the present rate of progress.. There has to be a way to get 40 hours out of a day.. there just has to be..
  19. Hmph - Just roll that baby into the shop, hit her withthe buffer and we'll be takin' 'er to town for coffee tonight. Seriously, she looks pretty forlorn and sad sitting there like that. Old vehicles always tug at my heart strings - make me feel sort of sad - almost like a death when they are that far gone. But she could be revived - of that I have no doubt. Nice pictures..
  20. Wow! All I can say is NICE WORK!!!!! It'll be tough toi replicate what you did although I will certainly give it a try. Thank you for the link to your build pictures.. your workmanship is amazing! That little car is definoitely the result of a labour of love - it's really obvious. Thank you again for sharing.
  21. Well said!!!!!!!!!! Perhaps you should start a new thread asking members to post the things that THEY can and should be thankful for on Thanksgiving and also, in their daily lives. That should stir some brain cells and help us ALL to realize that really, we ALL have SO much to be thankful for and life really isn't as bad as we sometimes allow ourselves to think it is. just a thought...
  22. Sure is a nice looking car! You did an awesome job on it for sure and the more that I look at it, the more I like it! I am a bit biased here though because I have a real love for '59 Chevrolets in ALL forms and being as how the '60 was a spin off in many ways of the '59, it goes without saying that I really do appreciate them. I just wish that someone would cast a '59 four door wagon.. *sighs* I have looked at the Flintstone '60 Nomad many times on Ebay but have not bought one yet. My main question here is how did you create the interior bucket - especially the back cargo area? By that, I am referring to the floor and side panels and wheel housings in the back behind the seat. Could you please post some detailed phgotos as to the process and parts that you used??? Thanks in advance.
  23. Yeah - Just think - only four more days left this work week.. I mean, how much worse can it get? Right?
  24. It seems that Barrett Jackson fever has hot the plastic crowd now too!
  25. 'Twas a nice car until you rolled it! Oh well... Seriously, it's a nice build. Those cars sure do look good in red and white. There used to be a red and white GTS in this area - don't know what ever happened to it. Keep up the fine work. AAA+
