why do some people insist on details?
Abell82 replied to meaneyme's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Personally, I try to just finish a model . If I choose to add a detail thats slightly outta scale, so what? Atleast I (and other builders, for that matter!) tried. Offer a suggestion and move on. I (personally) am not above critisizm, as long as it's helpful and comes with a suggestion on how to improve, said detail. Honestly, sometimes people are WAY too over critical. Maybe the Ford's fender mounted starter solenoid is out of scale, ever tried to make one in 1/25th scale? So what if it's actually closer to 1/22nd? It's not the end of the world. And sometimes a detail is just too fine to add, but my OCD compels me to try anyway!. (Besides, maybe it's scale is perfect, and it's the model that's underscale. It happens!) -
Just beautiful.

Let me try to be more specific... I am not aware of anyone that makes a GOOD King Cobra resin trans kit. So... you will need the Mustang II resin trans kit from Missing Link (OR Blue Oval ResinWorks). For the rear spoiler. (Missinglinks includes the hood scoop) The front Pacecar/ Cobra/ GT air dam from any one of the 79-84 MPC Mustang kits (except the Turbo cobra) You'll need to either scratch build the side skirts, or modify them from an MPC Svo. Good Luck.

I am about 1 hour north of Kissimee.

Thanks guys, glad you like it! For those that don't care for the raised cowlhoods... how about a non-cowl SVO hood... (Happy Holidays everyone!)

No one makes a King Cobra in scale. To my knowledge. You can make your own, though. You will need Missing Links ll parts and an MPC 79-84 Mustang for the air dam.

Isn't that a 58ish Plymouth bumper? -
I just stumbled on this thread. Some simply beautiful work in here. This thread should be pinned, for all to see.

I'm o.k with this. PM gpugh1976 with your address and lets see if we can get it rolling again.

Started one of these a few years back, when the SVO's were only made in the red plastic and the '93 Cobras were new and plentiful. Messed up the interior and never finished it though... Someday I'll finish this one. Anyway, I digress, maybe yours just needs a different hood?

The reply or response to which you refer, that seems to have gotten you bent out of shape 8 months later was in reference to a seperate and again NEGATIVE comment from yourself. regarding wasted effort I believe... It's quite simple, but I'll endevour to explain once more... No builder does more than one thing! I have no clue what you mean by putting you on a list. You chose to ignore the rules. I called you out on that fact. Pure and simple, now can we move on?

I am not sure what kit the high rise came from? (The Revell 1969 Shelby maybe?) It was in a box of parts acquired off that e-auction site. I ground it down, and added some sheet styrene so that I could have a base for the dual (custom made ) superchargers.

1/25 Revell '90 Mustang LX 5.0 2'n1 Special Edition
Abell82 replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
O.K. I've held my tonque as long as I could but I have ...Questions: Is it just me, or does the top body line look too low still ( Or are the door handles just too high)? And am I mistaken or is the trunk / rear window way... "off" also? What 's with the 5.0 emblem on the fender? Finally, I don't see an LX or Ford badge on the trunk? Hers a pic of a 1:1 (borrowed from the net) another... -
Fox Mustang LX rear spoiler ?
Abell82 replied to 57peppershaker's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
To answer your question Casey, no the spoiler in question is only meant to fit hatchbacks. Though I have seen them mounted occasionally on a coupe they look plain silly. For the original poster, a 1993 Cobra and an SVO will get you close to where you wish. -
Well, much like Tim (The Tool Man) Taylor I have decided the car needs more power, so I'll be adding a high rise to the 6 barrel...
