Scratch Building an Aussie Ford Falcon **New update,15/1/18**
Dragline replied to ShawnS's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Sunday morning, coffee and a bagel. I see this thread. Read ALL of the pages. Going back to collecting comics. The underhood panels with their complex shapes kept me coming back to them over and over yet again. For the life of me i don't have the patience for that nor the skillset. I was complaining about parts on my Enthusiast Dino build and after seeing this I'm simply going to build it as best i can and pack it away for none to see. WOW, and Awesome are words that simply DO NOT describe what has been accomplished on these pages. They fall utterly short. I'm not certain what words do apply but I'm not going to try. BRAVO MATE! Nothing fancy, usually dual master cylinder [Chevy JL8] and disks all around. Manual of course. Bob -
Looks like Tom Daniel didn't get the memo....

While it's cool to see TD kits reissued there are a few that have not been for many years. How bout Horn Toad, Unreal Roller, The Snap Tite Construction series. Let's face it, Cop Out and the others are still available on eBay for short money. Bob -
Worked as a Euro specialist [MB, Volvo, VW, BMW et al:] for 17 years. Did some job jumping till I landed in parts. My job also requires "Know How". Store 3237 Baltimore. Bob

Looked great in person at the MAMA meeting Ron. Looks just as good here buddy. Bob

It's the subtle things that make this build outstanding. The black rubber under both the antennae and badges is what struck me. I am getting the resin body kit offered elsewhere here and am wondering now why I did. This looks as nice as any 1:1 IMHO. I'm going back for some more looks. Bob

Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland Co.
Dragline replied to mikemodeler's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I know Norm personally and I will say that this is typical of him. He is the straightest shooter you will ever find in the resin biz. At the MAMA meetings he is helpful and always ready to listen to anything you may ask him no matter how small the request. I just bought his Ferrari 250 GTO engine kit for a future build and he made it to order, I got it yesterday from him and as he handed it to me he said if i had any problems he was only a phone call away to answer them. This is why he is the best resin maker out there. Bob -

1/16 Scale Army Vega Funny Car - Finished 10/14/2018
Dragline replied to Mooneyzs's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Whether this sounds trite or not I feel it needs to be said. Someday in the future we who are here now will be able to say. "I was there" when it all went down. We all watched as this monument to accuracy and craftsmanship came together. We all drooled over the metal parts carefully crafted one piece at a time to create the whole. The reverence applied to clearly a dear subject to the talented builder. I'm in awe, and now that you've effectively ruined Revell 1/16 scale drag kits for me, the least i can do is show my respect for you planning the work, then working the plan. Bravo brother. Bob -
Outstanding with all the factors considered. And, still outstanding when they are not. You sir are brave and you face things head on. Not much left to say. Bob

Those head gaskets are on point Chris. Very convincing. Glad to see you're back at it buddy. Bob -
That's looking good. That thing must have been a handful. Chuck, you have a Vega. I had one and i think the wheelbase was about 97/99 inches. What's the wheelbase on the Colt? Bob

Like many I buy supplies [overpriced ones] and that's about it. I did buy a can of Spazz-Stix last week there. Looking forward to trying that out. But the kits are off the charts high. There was a guy there that if you showed him your model club card [MAMA] he'd give you 15% off. That guy wasn't there my last visit so I payed full retail for Testors laquer and Tamiya acrylics. Sad to say but they are 15 minutes from me and I only go there when I'm on the ropes supply wise. Bob

Nice! Do you paint it red with black decals or black with red? Looks like a ton of work. Bob Looking at it closer it looks like red with black decals.....
-
Seriously? First model? Looks like your 1,500th. Some guys just have a meticulous nature from the outset. You sir, have that. Great weathering and execution. The pix are outstanding as well. Bob
