  1. Wrong anniversary....the discussion was about the '89 20th anniversary Trans Am, which had a turbo Buick V6. This kit: http://www.firebirdgallery.com/Model Images/3rd Gen/89gtamd11.1.jpg
  2. I believe it does have the 3.8...I have an unbuilt one in my stash, but I can't recall..
  3. The '67s have the 8 lug wheels. I have the '67 ht and convertible kits, the convertible is in storage, but I just checked the ht. I want to put some Pontiac Rally II wheels w/ redlines on one, maybe Hurst wheels on the convertible.
  4. Their '67 Grand Prix kits are very nice...I ordered the '66 Grand Prix today.
  5. Saw a solid '57 Ford Del Rio Ranch Wagon in pale green and white, just like the Revell box art kit except for the wheels and tires. Also saw what appeared to be an early '40s Dodge or Plymouth pickup rat rod/rust rod from a distance parked down a side street..
  6. I got in my order today for some parts and a couple kits. I see they announced a new kit today--a '70 Mercury Colony Park wagon.. may have to get that one to go w/ their '70 Ford Ranch Wagon and Country Squire I got a couple years ago.
  7. I'm sure the owner has good insurance. If I had an exotic car, I'd drive it every chance I got... I'm glad my current commute doesn't involve freeways...cross town driving on Camelback or Lincoln is bad enough... it's funny, the most congested part of my commute is the last 2 miles...Missouri from 24th st to 10th st is brutal at 4:30-6 in the afternoons...sometimes takes me 20 min for just that 2 mile stretch..
  8. McLarens are perfectly safe in rush hour traffic, less likely to spontaneously combust like Ferraris or Lamborghinis. I've seen a few McLarens in traffic around Scottsdale and Paradise Valley...
  9. Oddest thing I've seen in the past week was a current Mercedes CLA sedan in matte black w/ mirrored windows--all the windows, including the windshield had a mirrored appearance. Strange.
  10. Got a few new kits over the last week--from Model Roundup, the Moebius '65 Satellite Melrose Missile, 2 of the Revell '83 Hurst/Olds kits, and from Hobby Link Japan the Hasegawa Honda N360, Belkits Ford Escort rally car, and Aoshima Lamborghini Sisto Elemento..
  11. It came out in the last couple of months...I got mine from Hobby Link Japan..looks to be a neat kit at first glance. Hobby Search has a bunch of pics on their site... http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10368391
  12. That's the rumor I've seen...'85 442 w/ optional FE3-X verison..hopefully they will do an '84 Hurst/Olds also.
  13. I wonder if they had plastic radiators..the '80s is when car makers started using them..plastic tanks w/ aluminum cores. my '00 Jeep has one, on my 3rd radiator now (at 165k miles and driving the last 8 years in one of the harshest climates in North America).
  14. I was tired..I knew it was G-body...typo.
  15. I remember when I was a teenager the Cutlass and it's G-body siblings were everywhere...30 years later, they are a rare sight.
  16. Saw in a really clean '86 (I think it was an 86, grille had tightly spaced chrome vertical bars) Cutlass in traffic today, typical goldish beige color w/ 1/4 vinyl top, whitewalls and wire wheel hubcaps..
  17. AFAIK there have been at least 4 resin '79-80 Malibu coupes, of varying quality. I have one by Southern Motorsports Hobbies molded in white, Bandit Resins offers one, Perry's Resin used to have one, and R&R had one (didn't look very accurate in pics I've seen).
  18. I scored 83 Cutlass Supreme and an 83 Hurst Olds brochures on eBay today for reference.
  19. Does the kit have the lightning rod shifter? (mine have shipped, should have them by Saturday).
  20. I saw somewhere that one was being pushed back to a 2017 release, but not sure...
  21. It must have been somewhere in the 70s...I built the '78 Indy Pace Car version and IIRC it didn't have the working suspension...but I may be wrong. I have the 1/20th '73, it has it also..neat detail.
  22. Reminds me, I did once see an '81-82 Dodge Magnum (Diplomat coupe) in San Diego..
  23. Yeah, I see all sorts of unusual Mexico-plated vehicles here in Phoenix...Mexican late 90s Dodge Ramchargers, Chevy Chevys, unusual VW models, Chevy Sonoras (Tahoe rebadge), 2nd gen Lincoln Mark LTs, Ford Lobos (F150 rebadge), Dodge-badged Hyundais, etc...
  24. The kit does represent a stock version. About the only non-stock parts are the tires which aren't correct for 1983.
