  1. Yeah, they are pretty nice IIRC. I have most of the MPC '73-82 annuals in my stash..
  2. There was a '75 convertible in 1:1, MPC previously issued this kit as a '76, of which there was no 1:1 convertible. But the '74 offered the 454, and differences between '74-75 are trivial, so think of it as a mislabeled '74.. This kit has a neat set of unplated wide Rally wheels w/o center caps or trim rings, IIRC.
  3. The convertible, I believe
  4. Sometime in 2016 I assume... Round 2 doesn't really announce release dates very far in advance.
  5. The 1980 issue. See this thread for more info... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/89431-mpc-1980-road-runner/
  6. It is humorous all the posts that talk about changes to make a 'stock' version...I guess they mean a non H/O regular '83 Cutlass.
  7. They forgot the '84 in that illustration...the last Hurst/Olds (always liked the silver and black paint scheme).
  8. Was at the B&N at Desert Ridge (N Phoenix) this afternoon, they didn't have it...
  9. The monster truck version probably doesn't have the stock 4cyl either.
  10. Lol...hopefully I'll get my Cutlasses in the next couple of weeks...got them on preorder from Model Roundup. I didn't check my LHS for them, they do get the RPP early releases, but I figured they were all pre-bought...
  11. As with many products, there are always those guys that have to be the first on their block, in their clique, etc to have certain new products...human/consumer nature...
  12. I think if I wanted an electric car, I'd look into the Focus Electric...or a used Tesla Model S. This 'Defiant' thing is too weird for me.
  13. I'm sure they retooled the '70 to do the '71...that's how MPC (and other kit makers) did things back then. The '70 body tooling is no doubt long gone...would be nice to see it again, but I'm not holding my breath..
  14. Looks absurd. Mirrors look like '70s GM mirrors.
  15. I haven't heard anything about a 70 Grand Prix, seems pretty unlikely, considering that tooling was modified into the '71 then the '72, then the Super Fly custom then the Sweathog Dream Machine...
  16. also I assume will be a solid modern Round2 box instead of a floppy Lindberg donut box.
  17. Hmm..dungarees and chambray...and ties...sounds like the 50s... Going to have typewriters also?
  18. Working in the software biz, I'm used to shorts and t-shirts when I've worked in software companies, or khakis and button down shirts (or jeans and polo shirts for casual Friday) when I'm in a corporate IT environment. When I worked in consulting, it was usually shorts & t-shirts at the office with dressing up when I had to visit a client's office or go out to lunch or dinner w/ clients. I do have a sizable collection of ties, dress shirts, etc, but those mostly only are for formal events. I would never go out in public in flip-flops, pyjamas or sweatpants, though...some clothes are only good around the house.
  19. I have a couple on preorder from Model Roundup...I'm not in a rush..
  20. Hit me hard...been a fan since I first heard 'Little Red Corvette' at age 12 on the radio...his music has long been part of the soundtrack of my life. Saw him in concert twice...heard about it at work this morning, been listening on my phone all day to various Prince tracks...and that incredible Super Bowl half time...
  21. Neat...it's the Japanese market Odyssey, more of an Accord tall wagon than a mini van...nothing like the US market Odyssey..
  22. Saw another Lamborghini Murcielago roadster today, this one black. 2nd one in the same week. Also saw a black BMW i8 and a white Alfa Romeo 4C.
  23. And there is also Fort Steuben and Steubenville, Ohio...my hometown and the hometown of Dean Martin...both places also named after the Baron.
  24. Steig Larsson, Henning Mankell, Jo Nesbo to name a few I've read. I started reading them with Larsson's Millenium Trilogy ('Girl with The Dragon Tattoo' books and movies) and Mankell's Wallander books (two great TV series based on them). I also like Swedish and Danish crime TV series.
  25. I like Ellroy. I've read most of books. Crime fiction is one of my favorite genres, I've read most books by Michael Connelly, Robert Crais, James Patterson, John Sanford, Daniel Baldacci and others. Also been into Nordic crime fiction the last few years.
