The Franklin Mint did a 1/24th model of the Boyd's maroon version...looked better than Foose's revisions, IMO, esp. the roof shape, which has a weird 53/54 Chevy vibe to the front edge of the C-pillar on the Foosed version..

I wonder if the Foose kits will full detail or snappys. Anyway, doing single version kits of real customs is not unusual for Revell, they did it previously with the Rick Dobberton J2000 (I remember building that as a teenager--neat kit with lots of detail), the Matt & Debbie Hay T-Bird, etc..

Definitely a '57..I saw the front.

Moebius 67-72 Ford Pick-up news
Rob Hall replied to Dave Metzner's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Haven't seen any mention of one... a '67 would be nice, would require a different grille and badging, no marker lights. A Canadian market '67 Mercury M100 would be a neat variation.. -

Well, the places outside the USA I'd consider living generally have much higher taxes (Canada, UK, Sweden, Denmark)...except for a couple, and they are too expensive (Monaco) for my tastes..
-
Yeah...and the 15% self employment tax doesn't help...I had a mix of my 'day job' w2 income and 1099 side project income (at double my w2 rate)..oh well, such is life.

Maybe find someone who is a tax law specialist. Taxes..ugh... I owe an extra $8k in state and federal taxes this year, between having my state witholding too low, some capital gains on investments, and making $40k more than the previous year...

It would have to be two different kits, since the Foose car this kit represents appears to be completely custom..

It's in my HLJ Private Warehouse w/ a Belkits Escort and the Hasegawa N360...debating on whether to ship now, or wait on the Ebbro '69 Lotus F1 car that's supposed to be out next month (but that kit keeps getting delayed, was supposed to be out in '14 originally).

How did we manage to survive?
Rob Hall replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
A few too many bad experiences with older (15-25 yr old) cars have sworn me off anything I didn't buy new. I just don't need the headaches. I like models of old cars, though. -

That's brave...I just don't have the stomach for a road trip in an old car, even w/ AAA. I'd be afraid of a breakdown somewhere far from home.. -

To do that to an old car requires time, effort and money, though. I prefer the predictability and reliability of a modern car.. start up everyday, go to work, come home without worrying about a breakdown. I don't have the time or energy to wrench on a car myself if I depend on it to be there everyday.. And I can't imagine wanting to talk w/ anyone at a gas station...I pull in, fill up and pay at the pump, take off.. -

Old cars are fun to look at at car shows, cruise-ins, etc, but I really wouldn't want to drive one with any regularity. I'll stick w/ modern cars for the daily grind....I started driving in the mid 80s with mid 80s cars, those didn't even have cup holders, CD players, airbags, or ABS! My first few cars even had disk brakes only in the front..somehow I survived.. -
A digital version would be great. I subscribe to a bunch of magazines, all digital except for MCM and Collectible Automobile, the only print mags I still get..

Got my HLJ payment request for it today..

Looking forward to these. Would be nice to see a Koenigseggeggegg also.

I didn't notice the bag.

I've got a few Danbury Mint items in my stash...and a few Franklin Mint ones also. One thing I'm curious about--did any of the Mints ever do a '46-47 Ford Super Deluxe Sportsman woodie convertible? I haven't seen a resin kit of one.. I found out last week that an uncle used to own one...interesting cars, been reading up on them.

Got two of the new Moebius '65 Belvedere 2dr sedans. They look good at first glance.

Flat Hood 4 Revell `67 Camaro
Rob Hall replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I haven't seen one made for the Revell '67 Camaro yet, but I have seen vendors with cowl induction style and other style hoods for that kit on eBay, I'm sure one of them will offer one sooner or later... Edit--there are flat hoods available from various resin casters for the Revell '69 Camaro, maybe one of those could be altered to fit. I haven't checked any of the '69 hoods, but thought I read somewhere that they fit the Revell '67 better than the AMT '67/68 hoods.. -
1/25 Volkswagen Beetle non-convertible
Rob Hall replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Very strange to see a sedan bodystyle referred to as a 'non-convertible'. -
Not that same tired argument again...barf. The 'rainbows and unicorns' crowd (the other side of the coin from the 'rivet counters') can't accept any criticism and blindly accept mediocrity.
